If Ford has decided how they are going to allocate the lightning they have yet to tell anyone. Nobody outside of Ford even knows how many vehicles they are going to attempt to produce.
Nothing and nobody is preventing you from anything as the vehicle isn't available to purchase at the current time. They haven't even been built yet.
It's not completely nailed down, but it's a near certainty based on Bronco and other info from Granger/Chapman that dealers with good pricing are going to have more demand than Ford is willing to provide allocations for. Therefore, some people will be forced to buy from dealers with worse pricing in order to get their truck in a timely manner, which means that making sure dealers with bad pricing get trucks anyway takes precedence over reservation timestamp. This is a bigger issue with Bronco because Ford actually promised to build them in order of reservation as much as possible for Bronco, but it's putting an additional constraint on the process that makes finding a dealer difficult.

You can't just pick a dealer based on price and expect the truck to be built in approximate order of reservation (outside of parts supply variables that no one has any control over).

You have to ALSO know how many reservations they have, where your reservation is in their line, and how many allocations they'll get per year... and then find out that info for any dealer you're considering switching to, and many dealers aren't going to tell you this info.

Hopefully, information on the allocation system becomes clearer, and hopefully dealers become more up front with the information so customers can make more informed comparisons between dealers, BUT if Ford is going to give allocations to dealers with poor pricing anyway, then it's likely in those dealers best interest not to be up front with info... making it hard for consumers to make educated decisions.

We do have some facts related to pricing terms, that is the sole reason for the no ADM /pricing thread. Please search before you post.
Pricing terms are NOT the same as "best price". What may be the best price for you MAY NOT be the best price for someone else-- depending upon time of order(also demand), supply, location, chosen dealer, amount of time they wish to take to shop dealers and haggle, etc.

Its all fluid and its gonna change. Its very possible that people who don't want a truck right away will get a better price in 2023-2024 when demand MAY start to die down. It may be that someone in a lower demand area(ex. west texas, Wyoming) MAY pay a lower price than someone in Maryland. It is quite possible someone with better haggling skills(and more time) may be able to score a better deal. Or like you so eloquently have shown, its possible someone who moans, complains, whines, makes empty threats, and becomes combative may try to get a better deal.

The ADM/pricing thread has good info, but at the end of the day this is an agreement between you and the dealer. Its only the "best cost" if the dealer agrees to it(and actually sells you the truck at that price). What you THINK is the best cost really doesn't matter....

All you've done is be argumentative, combative and quite frankly been very disrespectful towards me-- caling me stupid, unintelligent, unemployed, not a hard worker, etc.

Please learn basic economics before you post.(Start with supply and demand theory) Please take the time to comprehend the situation consider your response before your post. Its not your best look to spout off with emotion and contradict yourself with every subsequent post.

The only FACT is that there are some dealers who have made (most likely non-binding) written or verbal agreements to not have additional markup and/or accept xplan if available.

Unfortunately not accurate. Ford is evidently updating dealers. Granger was updated on the Bronco (confirmed) and Chapman was updated on the Lightning. Please stick to the facts, otherwise this leads to confustion.
The facts are there are no facts.

Dude, no one knows anything. A couple memos sent to dealers showed an order date, that changed to TBD.

Your issue is a fake one, there is no info on pricing. You can't be out money if there isn't money to discuss. Chapman is making a guess about their allocation (if anything). They can CHOOSE to conduct business in anyway they want. They are choosing not to let you transfer (according to you). There is nothing they have that says they can't take more reservations.

You snoozed on getting your reservation to them and now you're grumbling about it.

All the dealers with good policies, regarding the assumed pricing and are willing to blindly commit to not charging ADM, have a bunch of reservations.

Dealers know almost as little as we do. The only difference is they have access to a system that doesn't have any information, so they actually know no information is available.
