22’ F-150 Lightning XLT SR
Going through this forum and seeing the support of people on here is refreshing. There are a lot of people here that truly enjoy their trucks. I thought I'd show my 2022 XLT SR Lightning that I got December 6, 2025 used at Ourisman Ford Manassas.

I was sold on the idea of the Lightning when it first was announced, but financially wasn't feasible for me to get one at the time. Fast forward to December 6th, 2025 - I needed a truck for my house, housework and weekly tasks and found a great deal on a used 2022 XLT SR after trading in my 2013 Toyota Camry. I was hesitant to switch away from Toyota since I've always driven or owned a Toyota - 2004 Rav4, 2006 Tacoma, 2013 Camry. I also had never owned or driven a BEV. It was my first time moving to a Ford vehicle. At first I was thinking of getting a Tacoma or waiting until the BEV Solid state battery was made from Toyota to get one. Toyota from my research was working on developing Solid State batteries and were going to potentially implement that tech sometime between 2027-2030 and the Tacoma was projected to be the priority truck in their BEV lineup. Rather than wait, I decided to go for a Ford Lightning. The idea appealed to me of a full sized BEV truck that could handle everything I needed it for.

I am both excited and disappointed. A few weeks after buying my Lightning, to hear Ford state they are discontinuing it was a huge letdown for me. A few weeks of driving my Lightning and I felt excited of what battery technology could be. Instant torque, peace and quiet, efficiency for my specific situation. It at the time met all my expectations and continues to show me more the more I drive her. I'm not sure whether the F-150 Lightning will be my last Ford or not, but as it stands now - I truly enjoy my truck. It's fun to drive, it's lively, it does what my old Tacoma couldn't. I'll keep driving her until the battery falls out (I drove my grandfathers 1994 Toyota pickup until the engine bay rusted out on the island of Guam).

This forum has been an inspiration and informative on knowing more about my Lightning and what's out there that we should know as owners. I'm looking forward to being part of this community for a long time
