I haven’t been driving much lately so my charging has been minimal. Is there a problem with only charging this amount? I charge to 90%

No.

In fact, it's ideal.

In short, you're doing it correctly.

There are plenty of people on the forum who always charge to 90%. Personally I go to 85%, but that's just my calculation of the size of the battery. I'm actually not doing the correct way and charging every day like you, but I have such a short commute to work I still only get down to 70% or so before charging again - plus my wife has a longer commute with her Tesla, so she uses it almost daily.

And it’s ok to keep the SOC between 70-90% everyday?
There are many articles you can find to read about DOD, Depth Of Discharge. Generally the smaller the DOD, the better over the long run for your battery. As to your 90% charge level, if that is what you need than great. If you really don't need the 90% every day you might consider 85% or 80%. When the need comes up for more range, just use your phone to boost the SOC.

Just do what you need and relax. Always Be Charging ABC is a great way to go.

I have learned to do ABC, and I keep it at 80% summer and 90% winter ... but I thought that there was some benefit (similar to the benefit of charging to 100% ~once a month) to running the battery to it's low end occasionally.

We do run it below 50% at least once a month, more during ski season. Is there a benefit to exercising the low end?

I charge mine to 85% daily and to 100% monthly before a longer drive. This keeps the battery pack healthy and in sync. As others have said, you are doing it right. A smaller Depth of Discharge (DOD) is easier on the battery cells than a deeper DOD, so daily charging is best.

Thanks for your feedback everyone. I have tried looking online before posting this question but there is so much contradicting information out there.

Don't overthink it. Ford batteries are showing themselves to be very resilient. Follow Ford's recommendation of charging to 90% for regular use and 100% only when necessary. Beyond that do what suits you. Theoretical "perfect" charging habits aren't going to give much practical benefit. The battery health benefits will be negligible during a typical ownership span. You might be helping the guy who owns the truck 20 years from now squeeze another 10k miles out of it.

I am definitely an overthinker when it comes to this stuff haha. I have always been very meticulous when maintaining my ICE vehicles and that just carries over to my EV.

True dat. Most of us will get 10-15 years out of the pack regardless of our charging patterns. In many cases, the pack will simply outlast the truck.

I forgot that Ford suggests 90%. I know it says to do 100% before a long trip, though I just do 90-95%. I can't hold it long enough on a long trip to need 100% ;) - Yes I'm old, and need to stop more frequently than when I was in my 20s
