Navigation turning on by itself

On a few recent trips, the Ford sync 4a navigation has been turning itself off and announcing turn directions without any prompt. I have never used the on board navigation and have only used apple car play. The destination is my childs daycare, so one I got to regularly and it seems to be turning on around the time I would go there.

Wondering if anyone else had any issues with the navigation starting up by itself?

Yes, everyone that doesn't turn off the setting that suggests destinations... Go into user settings on the navigation and turn it off.

Thanks. Had never used the navigation and hadn’t dove into the settings. Seems like it should be turned off now.

I recommend that people sit in their vehicles and go through every setting there is. And read the manual. People spend $60 - $100k on a vehicle and just drive, but for a $20 appliance they read the manual...

These trucks have lots of features not in existence in prior years.

Bumping this to say it happens to me from time to time. This week it started giving me voice route guidance somewhere by itself without any input. It's usually someplace I frequent, although one time it was a location I might have been to once months prior (although I do frequent a place about a block away).

Even if suggested/predicted destinations is turned on it shouldn't actually start the route guidance by itself. I then have to fiddle with the screen to cancel the route. I need to remember to go into the settings now and turn off the predicted destinations option. I didn't realize that was causing the issue until I came across this thread.

If it's supposed to automatically start route guidance based on your driving patterns it does a terrible job at it. I go to the gym every morning and it might have only once tried to navigate me there. If it really should start guidance based on where it thinks I'm going it would happen every day since I go there every day +/- an hour. This morning it tried sending me somewhere I go to late in the evenings a couple days a week.

This is clearly a bug in the system. It's infrequent and inconsistent, and it's a "feature" I can't imagine someone actually wanting. Suggesting a frequent destination on the Nav screen for me to select is one thing, it's another to actually start guidance on its own.

If my wife is in the truck and it tries sending me somewhere questionable I expect a letter from @Ford Motor Company on company letterhead, addressed to my wife, acknowledging it's an error in the system.

OTA updates are also known to turn this feature back on. I've had to disable it at least 3 times.

I'll do my best to explain that there's a guy named Brian who works for Ford that's not AI but has an AI alter ego that's controlling my truck to navigate me to strange places for his own twisted entertainment.
