I do plan on widening the driveway apron when I get it repaved this year, adding about 2 feet so I can back out and turn easier.

I did this. My truck lives outside and being able to pull to the side gives easier access to my charger, which runs under the garage door, and allows more space for my wife to pull out.

If you need two feet, I recommend adding three or four. I ended up adding concrete twice because the first addition required perfect positioning just to be adequate. With some extra concrete, parking because much easier.
