Just an update that it was fixed finally. It took multiple trips. First time they didn't have the part, so I drove the truck home. Second time they had the part but when they took it apart to install it, they found out it was the wrong part. Ended up getting a loaner because they didn't want to reassemble it. Was able to pick it up the next day. Only paid the $100 deductible for the extended warranty. Sharing the tech notes for those nerds who are interested.

Something to watch out for.

I guess you were beyond the 3yr bumper-to-bumper coverage...but seems to me they should have covered it anyway since seems to me like it is clearly a manufacturing defect...I guess they think that it failing is from normal wear and tear? For something as important as the cooling system, I'd expect better quality as job one.

From what I understand, any part of the battery/motor cooling system is covered under the 8/100k warranty. Just because you only noticed the lack of heating doesn't mean it falls into the 3yr btb category as the cooling system is a closed circuit system the heater just happens to be a part of.

I'd argue and get my $100 ded back.

My work is covered under warranty. It's not ideal this part has already failed. It's been with the dealer now just a little over a week.

Apparently they're now having issues performing required software updates. This same thing happened with my truck when I had a 12v battery issue. That time they had it for almost 3 weeks.

I wonder who foots the bill once this stuff is out of warranty and each replacement part ends up requiring an escalation to Ford Engineering because the software won't update. It seems like they waste hours and hours on this -> doesn't sound inexpensive.
