After my lunch break today I got back in my truck to find that I had an error stating that one pedal driving mode was unavailable and to use the brake pedal. I backed the truck up a little bit to test this (and one pedal was not working) and then stopped and shut it off and on again. With this start up, one pedal still gave an error, but now my power available was reduced from 100% to 64% and the truck was saying service soon. I shut it down again and turned it back on and one pedal worked along with the power being back to the normal 100%, but the service soon message was still present. Has anyone run into something like this? I had originally assumed that it was just a random glitch, as I get that sometimes with my ACC not detecting speed limit signs, but the reduction in power has me concerned. Is there any way to see what the error is other than hooping up a OBD sensor? I have one, just not with me at the moment. Thanks for any help or advice!

Got the alert from the app for a Powertrain malfunction/reduced power. Wonderful.

That may just be Ford Pass reporting the second start you mentioned that showed reduced power. Ford Pass seems to lag behind in-vehicle notifications.

I'm hoping that it's all related to just a momentary glitch with one pedal driving, but it has me concerned

Just wanted to give a follow up, went to the truck after work and the service vehicle warning is gone, it's been fine ever since. I'm going to hook it up and check for dtc codes when I get the chance, but I'm hoping it was just some momentary glitch with the one pedal driving.

Hey there. Can you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to look into your error message concerns on my end.

You indicated that you were at 100% charge. I don't use one pedal drive does it work at 100% charge? The truck would have to be applying braking rather than using re-gen at 100%,

100% power available, not charge. I was probably around 75% charge.

It sounds like you think regen only occurs in OPD. The truck will do regen with or without OPD. I don't do OPD either but the brake coach and the power meter still shows regen when stopping. It's off-topic but I think a better question is will it still do regen at 100% SOC, irrelevant to OPD. That was answered here. (Answer was yes).

Take it in to the Dealer. Let them know about the power reduction. This might be more common and Ford needs to know about it so they can get a fix out whether it’s software or an actual issue with power being reduced.

I’ve had the power reduction issue 3 times, but have only been to the dealer once for the issue. Nothing was found.

I was contacted by the Ford rep on here and gave them my info and that of my dealership. They're looking into it.

I know the truck does re-gen regardless of the OPD settings. I misread the OP's post about 100% power and interpreted it as 100% battery. The truck can't re-gen any kinetic energy when the battery is full regardless of the settings.

I just started a similar thread, with a very similar issue. Symptoms were almost identical. Did Ford ever get back with you jdmackes?

If I remember correctly they contacted me and I sent them the info the requested but they didn't see any issues. I'm pretty sure it was just a software glitch or something, I've driven it for thousands of miles since then and had no issues

I just had this issue. I was at 100% charge and starting a 160-mile one-way drive. I had just turned on my cruise control and received an error saying 1 pedal driving is disabled, reduced power, and schedule service soon. I have had my truck for less than 4 months and have 4,600 miles on it.

I tried to go again but the power was VERY limited so I pulled over, turned the truck off and on again, and other than the schedule service soon indicator, everything is working fine. We stopped for dinner about halfway on our drive and are returning tomorrow. Based on what I have read in this thread, it seems I should be okay and I plan to schedule service for next week.

Can I reset this error myself using my OBD2 connector?

Thanks!
