Ford has finally got the parts to repair the internal short circuit in the high voltage battery.

Wondering if this is what happened to my 2022. Was in the shop for over a month. I haven't got the full report yet but I have got the truck back. The one thing I do notice is that the range indicator has dropped from 525 km to 460 km. The dealer indicated that there was no recall on the matter. So I'm not sure if that's exactly what happened to mine. It started with the "stop safely now" message and we're not going to drive. This is the second time it's happened to my truck. It's got 155,000 km on it. Hopefully I'll get a visit into the dealer this weekend see if I can get a full report.

I haven't experienced any problems that indicate they are related to this recall. Although I did get 3 HV battery modules replaced. One day my truck refused to charge and all blue segments turned red. When I took my truck in for an inspection they found 3 bad modules. This recall has something to do with the HV buss connections causing a fire. A temp solution from ford was to only charge the vehicle to 80 % to avoid a fire until the part we're available. Now the parts are available and I'm scheduling getting the work done at my dealership.

This appears to be a different recall than mine 25V131. I've never seen your recall.
Is there some confusion between the NHTSA tracking number and the Ford Recall number, they are the same issue.

I’m not sure what the recall number is, but I did get the notice a while back that there was a recall on the truck to avoid charging to 100%. About a week ago, I got next message saying that parts were in so I scheduled and got the truck in. Of course, when at the dealership, they had to do something to get Ford’s approval to send parts. So my truck has sat there for a week and I’m waiting to hear something back. It’s fine for now, I’m now on a cruise for 7 days and hoping I won’t have to wait additional time afterwards.

High Voltage Battery Electrode Misalignment...Ford traced several fires to some of the SK One manufacturer production machines not aligning cell pouches within specifications, which can cause a short (because the pouch style cells expand with higher charges?) and could start the lithium cells burning. One of the NHTSA Recall 25V131 documents posted, provided by Ford, describes the fire history and Ford investigation. Ford Safety Recall 25S18.

Still would like to know exactly what causes other cell failures, requiring HV battery module replacements, for the estimated 4% of the 2022-2024 models.

Exactly! I believe these modules are failing because something wasn't properly done during installation of the cells in the modules. It doesn't really matter what caused these but because so many modules are failing at such an early date in the warranty period there was definitely a problem during the production of these vehicles. I just wish ford would own up to this and replace all the batteries in our vehicles that have had any of their modules fail. I know they are hoping all will not fail during their warranty period so the costs will fall on us. I've had 3 fail, all replaced at the same time. Still 6 to go , I'm hoping they will fail prior to my 8 yr warranty expires. I'll never have 100k miles before then.

I've tried scheduling to get mine repaired but specifically told my dealership to order the parts first and to schedule me an appointment after the parts arrived at the dealership because this is my only vehicle and I didn't want their courtesy car any longer than necessary. I hate driving an ICE vehicle.

Thanks. I didn't notice that. I was just referencing the number at the top of my recall sheet. When I saw your number I assumed it was a different recall.
