Thought I'd take a moment to counter the well deserved Electrify America bashing with an example of how it SHOULD work. Since using one of the first EA stations in the country in 2018 (Hazel Dell, WA) I've probably used them 50 times between my eGolf and Lightning. The eGolf could only take 39kW so it was always great, but the lightning has been far from it.

The session I had Saturday was absolutely perfect. With Plug & Charge enabled I was receiving power in less than 30 seconds from connecting it. It's probably 50/50 I get power on the first attempt, so this is already a win. Another 30 seconds and it's up to 172 kW, the most I've ever seen on my SR Pro. Then it held 168-172 kW for 10 min going from 28-55 before slowly tapering to 115 kW at 65%. In 15 minutes it had added 38 kWh. Then from 70-80% she floated before 90 and 95kW before the 80% cliff.

Overall I took in 53 kWh in 24 min going from 29 to 80% for an average rate of 133 kW.

So your saying there’s hope?
I have a very very small sample size, but all 4 of my EA (3/4 at the same station) experiences have been identical to the OP's in my Ext. Range lightning. ~170kw peak, settles in around ~130kw. Plug & charge has worked on try #1 each time for me.

My most recent EA charge was 53.1690kw added in 21 minutes and only would have cost $7.77. Super happy with that!

Has anyone with an ER documented a 10%-80% charging session on a 350kW charger?

I’m super curious to know what’s the fastest someone has charged an ER from 10%-80% but I’m not going to purposely drain by battery down to 10% just to fast charge it.

My 53kW 21 minute charge noted above was on a 350kw from 42 to 80%. So could be doable in 35 to 40 minutes.

Nice. That’s an average of 142kW charging speed. You were hauling.

I’d be really surprised if a Lightning could do 10%-80% in less than 40 minutes considering the official 15%-80% time is quoted at 41 minutes. Both @OutofSpecKyle and @tommolog were getting close to Ford’s official time in their test sessions. 70% of the battery in 35 minutes would be an average of 157kW and 40 minutes would be 137kW. The former doesn’t seem possible considering the Lightning ramps down to about 120kW after about 15 minutes of charging. The latter is plausible but I’ve yet to see anyone document it.

We took a trip last week and had a total of 8 fast charges, 6 on EA and 2 on the new Pilot/Flying J Ea go Ultium chargers. All went well and definitely noticed a decreased handshake time before the electrons started flowing. Peaked at 181kw on 2 different chargers!

Not quite 10 to 80, but these are the 3 best charge sessions I've had. Hudsonville, MI is a new site and they have all brand new 350kw units, and the Lansing site is falling into disrepair. We used it 2 days ago and 3 of the units must have had bad cable temp sensors because the best we could get was 39kW. Luckily we only needed a small buffer to make it home.

Nice. What was the trick?

I never do that well on an EV.

30% to 80% in 25 minutes, I would love that when I am on a trip. (Let's ignore the 80% cliff and after).

Great illustration of why it’s simply not true, that Lightnings don’t charge faster on 350kW chargers…
To see 174kW, with the Lightning’s battery pack voltage in the low-to-mid 300V range, the truck has to be able to receive 500A (as in 344V x 500A = 174kW). Only the 350kW EA units are able to output 500A; the 150kW units are limited to 350A. So, if biers had plugged into a 150kW unit, the most he would have seen would be 120kW (344V x 350A = 120kW).
The latest Electrify America 350kWs are simply awesome- makes me wonder if Tesla Supercharger+CCS Adapter will be able to keep up with them!

Always go for the 350kW charger, if you’re driving a Lightning.

I do...if available.

My question is why does EA put in 4 PODs. Two 350Kw and two 150kw. (and one 350kw is always not working).

Cmon EA, put in 6 or 8 Pods and make them all 350kw! LOL

That's fantastic. At Electrify Canada, I've only gotten to 134kW but it is a 150kW charger so I'm guessing that's max for that charger on our Lightning Architecture. We need more 350kW chargers here. Interesting your screenshot shows CHAdeMO and not CCS.
