I recieved the iOS Ford app update a few weeks back. Since then, my PAAK mostly fails. Things I would do in the past to get PAAK to work (kill app, re-open and keep open, disable / re-enable bluetooth) do not work at all. It is seemingly random, and mostly (>50%) does not work at all and I need to use my backup passcode to get the car moving. Is anyone else experience this? I have had the truck since launch (3.5 yrs), 2020 platinum. Using iphone 17 pro max.

What I have notice is that it has improved greatly when you walk up to the truck to unlock it . What has gotten worse is the “no key detected “ message upon starting the truck. Anyone else notice this?

Restart your phone if you haven't already.

PAAK is installed deeply in iOS for security reasons, and upgrading the iOS or the app should be followed by a phone restart in both cases to keep everything straight. I have found that there are 3 restarts required. One automatic restart during the iOS update, one following the successful iOS update, and one following any Ford App updates. While they are not always required, glitches seem to go away for me if I follow this restart plan.

I have this exact issue. I have an iPhone 15 pro, but I have noticed it often. The truck seems to respond to me as it does its click, turns on the lights, but when I pull the door handle, nothing. I close, reopen the app, nothing, then I select the unlock button on the app, it opens. But, then it does not respond to start. It shows connected for the controls with frunk and "trunk"--Really @Ford Motor Company?

Very frustrating.

If I ever have any hiccup with PAAK unlocking my vehicle, I find that switching from the Vehicle tab to the Energy tab and back (with maybe an app refresh thrown in) ~always works. Even though I have a strong Wi-Fi LAN signal in my garage, I've found that being on cellular data helps, too.
