Has anyone found a better add-on support for the center armrest? I know when I get in that’s the first thing I put my weight on and would like to find something to put over top of it that may add additional support to it. Thanks.

Note, this is the work surface model
Second Note: You need to remove the cover to use the fold-down work surface because of the thickness of the padding on top. Plus, the straps that hold it on go between the top of the two work surfaces when it is stowed.

So, those of you who have it, does your center armrest creak under the pressure of your arm when climbing in? Or does it provide enough 'strungth' to keep it from doing this?

I do not own this yet, but considering adding one to my truck to protect the center console covering from scratches and wear since my boxer likes to ride in the passenger seat as my co-pilot.

Anyhow, I would not expect this to add much in the way of structural support to the console itself. It is just a protective covering for the covering material (fake leather / vinyl) from what I can see.

It's about 3/4" padding that feels like memory foam under the quilted pleather. The bottom is black low pile carpet with a kind of stiff backing. I never experienced any creaking. I suppose you could add a stiffener between the bottom carpet and the top of the console lid made from something like a plastic chair mat cut to size.

I did come to the conclusion that, as @meow above, that I like the padded console cover enough that it feels weird without it.
