In fairness, I’m not sure it was the Putco install but it was a concern of Ford’s and they removed the Lightning as a supported truck for it on the Ford website after my problems but I also had the rear light bar and the entire 12v harness replaced (twice) and a HV battery module replaced and even after disconnecting the Putco LED and 3 12v batteries later still had problems but yes when the dealer installed the Putco LED in to the fuse box they notched it and water got in they eventually replaced it but that may have started the cascade of other things. Or it may be totally unrelated and a coincidence but this way you avoid ever having to deal with any issues or possibilities or questions about it!

should i remove my current fuse box setup and install this harness? I havent had any errors or water in my fuse box. i pressure my truck regularly and it lives outside. it would have happened by now.

I watched the video. I have the Putco lighted emblem (fuse box design) and am now convinced to go the harness route. Problem is, I am not sure how to get that harness that was demonstrated in the video. Does Putco offer it and I have to modify it per Martin Rebuilds advice?

i just notched it under the lid and ran it through that.

This is a great video. I installed my Putco light a while back before the harness modification. One issue I have is the interference with the FM radio. Has there been a better fix for this? I am using the Ferrite Ring Core Noise Suppressor Clips but they are not working very well.

Chris, does or will Martin's make and sell the harness to do this? Or Putco sell the harness?

The harness comes from Putco but is for the gas F150 and is too short and 2 pins are swapped so in Martins video (which is linked at the end of mine and in the description of mine) he shows how he made the extension we used and which wires to take power from. He doesn’t sell the harness himself though
