Recently I hooked up my trailer to deliver an item I sold. The range dropped as expected when I specified the trailer. However when I unhooked the trailer, the displayed range never went back up. The screen says "no active trailer". Tried adding and removing trailer several times. My actual driving range is double what the screen shows. It obviously thinks a trailer is still connected. Ideas??

My oft repeated advice - “Ignore the GOM!”

The SoC% and MPK are all you need.

mine does this all the time, sometimes when NOT having towed anything... crazy, but it will eventually reset back to 'normal'... although there's nothing you can do in the meantime.

I was wondering if disconnecting the 12 volt battery would reset the range error? Likely would lose all stored settings too.

So I disconnected the 12 volt battery for a minute, re-connected it and YES, displayed range was correct! Did not lose any saved settings or trailer descriptions.

Go into trailer settings, select No Active Trailer. If that doesn't work, do it again.

This is what I had to do after trying to hook up a light bar into the towing harness and got annoyed that I lost cross traffic alerts. I restored the wiring to its original state but the truck was stuck thinking a trailer was attached. Finally found the No Active Trailer button and that did the trick to restore the GOM.

Great!

This is a great example (what you tried) of why people should do their research in the NON-EV F-150 forum for things that are common to the trucks. Not using the towing harness has been an issue for F-150 for years and years. There's a huge bunch of commonality on these trucks, and this is one example. Tonneau covers are another example.
