I'm wondering if removing my stock rear view mirror is okay? In the picture you can see the wiring harness and it's many pins but it has four wires going to it. If I disconnect this to install a new mirror/camera will it affect the truck in any way besides the stock mirror and its Auto dimming feature? I have had a few generations of the WolfBox rear view cameras in my vehicles and my wife's and my sons. Once my son started driving my truck he said "dad you have to get the rear view camera because I can't drive this without one!" The stock mirror is quite small and the view out the back window sucks, to be honest.

I used the rubber band mounts before, but don't like them. Especially with our trucks and my wife's Forester with very limited headroom above the mirror for the wiring and ability to aim the reflective mirror high enough for my eyes. I got the OEM Mount from Wolfbox this time and got one for my wife's. If my son wants one, I'll get a 3rd!

OH, Amazon web services? I hadn't heard. Can I ask what is the pendant on your necklace in your profile pic? Looks like a beetle maybe.

Somewhat related question. Is there an ability to keep the cameras on at speed? Would love to be able to see the back/surround view when moving.

Also, the backup camera is useless when the tailgate is down. You would think that Ford would realize that sometimes you have to backup when the tailgate is down and having a camera which shows that view would be useful. The bed camera just does not cut it in those cases.

Yes cameras are available at speed. I read here on the forum and tried the side cameras, but you can click the camera icon and go thru all the camera options to view. Your question shows other reasons for 3rd party cameras. WolfBox has 3 camera options as well. Mine is only the dash rear view cams. The rear view I have mounted on the rear glass. I love that it gives me a good view of my sideview blind spots.

You don't get all the camera views that are available when parked though. This is 50-50 views and the turn signal camera. The latter requires you to be towing or do what I did, use a trailer plug to fool the truck into thinking I was towing.
