Anyone used one of these on the rear hitch with a Lightning? Any reason why this would be a bad idea?

All criticisms about “proper” snowplowing aside. I understand this is probably not the best for commercial or even daily plowing, but I was wondering if it would be a viable option for my own driveway for random deeper snows here in the Midwest.

Maybe you need a Haiku mode?

There's always something...

I had a buggy PC keyboard one time that would auto-repeat single letters on-and-on-and-on, what a pain, but when it stopped the letter repeating, spell checker would clean it up, a real time wasting hassle until I replaced it...impossible to open and clean the contacts.

I had a mouse with one of my daughter's hairs stuck in it that would misfire frequently. Very tricky to get out even after taking the mouse apart.

Probably every one my age has used a typewriter and had keys jam together at one time or another. Then when the IBM electrics came along with the rotating ball, sometimes you'd get repeated letters if you held the key too many microseconds...so then they invented ones with a built in correction tape feature (if you could figure it out).

Ever work with punch cards or tape? One typo and it's start all over again entering the code - OMG!

Early calculators user 'reverse polish notation.' What's that you ask? Well, imagine a calculator designed by Yoda.

With personal computers came word processors and freezes usually occurring in the middle of writing an important letter, so it was ctrl-alt-del and a reboot DOS and start all over again, this time saving the document every few minutes to a floppy!

Now we have touch screen icons and keyboards, which seem to ignore my fingers 75% of the time.

Anyway, from reading between the lines, it sounds like the phone was excited to give a positive review of the snow plow, good to know!

It works great, I own one. The only drawback was the plow doesn't fit any standard truck in the USA due to height. The Lightning hitch is about 19" off the ground. My stock Tahoe is 21". My friends Maverick is 18". Apparently this thing was designed to be used on a Smart car. I had to have AgriCover make me a new hitch adapter to use the plow on the back (they made under warranty). After that, the plow works great. I would imagine if you put a front hitch on, the height would work. But the photos on their website show it on the back of half ton trucks, which would never work the way they supply it. Contact them before you buy and be sure you're getting the right hitch adapter if you plan to use it on the back of (any) truck. It is easy to use backing up with all of the cameras on the Lightning! No need for the front hitch (which I thought was ugly, so didn't put one on).

If you see the attached photo, this is when I first tried to install it. On the lowest setting for the hitch plate they included. The plow is off the ground about half an inch, so it wouldn't work. They did make things right, though, but it was frustrating it didn't work as advertised out of the box.

This is the reply I came here for! Thanks @jpatt2020! How does it work in different types and amounts of snow?

So far so good! I've used it only for 1ft of snow and less, and it plows to bare concrete. Much better than dealing with a snow blower. I can clear my whole driveway in my heated cab in about 5 minutes. Wish I had purchased sooner.

I actually built a wooden one of these years ago and it has worked for me pretty well. Got a bit bent when I hit a concrete curb, but no real issues. All in I think it was under $200 for materials.

I wonder if this would be better with the blade flipped 180º, so that you could back up and pull the snow rather than having to push it backward? Maybe the blade is too small for that type of plowing, though. And then I'd want to tilt it so that one end was in front of the other, and then I'm just wanting a normal plow :)
