FDRS = Ford Diagnostic & Repair System. It's the same software dealers techs use and allows you to update the modules yourself. It does require an investment in the tools needed to use it. Details are below:

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/ecu-module-programming-guide-using-fdrs.8249/

It is possible that the dealer did updates are you are still out of date. Even with the tools needed to do the updates, you can only update what Ford has released for your VIN. If this is something that you really want to explore, message me the VIN and I can run it through FDRS later and let you know where you stand.
Hello Rugedraw,

Forx keeps telling me that I'm up to date, but I'm not sure I trust them. If I send you my VIN, would be able to tell me if they are correct, please? I have not received an OTA since Sept of 2024. So, if they are incorrect I'd like to let them know there's something wrong with my truck and I want it updates.

Thanks for your consideration.

Sure, message me the VIN and I'll check it later later tonight when I get home.

2023 Ford F150 Lightning XLT standard range
This is the last update I got and it was months ago it seems like. I also have a 23 standard range and don’t have the fancy charge rate in my dash either hoping it comes to me soon. I’m also having the audio issue being choppy with CarPlay makes me remember the portable cd player that would skip. Ford needs to fix these issues with the updates and sync

Yes the BlueTooth streaming audio is a common problem it seems which is why I switched to either:

1) an SSD (or other memory device) formatted in exfat with my music on it plugged into the USB port or

2) an FM transmitter connected to the music player (iPod, Zune, XM Roady, etc.) and tune the radio to an unused FM channel.

2025 F150 Lightning Flash
Geez, it looks like the Mongoose for Ford is only available in wireless, and almost $700 now? I just bought my 2025 Flash 2 weeks ago. It looks like it was built in January. What are the chances that there are any significant updates available for it at this point?

I know I do have trouble with carplay audio cutting out, and it's rather irritating. That's one thing I'd definitely like to fix. From what I've seen though, the TSB that might have helped was pulled, and may not have applied to MY25 anyway, so I don't know if the dealer will be much help.

Watch the forums for used ones, they come up on occasion at pretty decent prices ($400 or so). It does look like the wired version is not currently available on Amazon. If you want to go down this road, the Clore PL6100 is at one of its cheapest prices I've seen - grab it now and a cable whenever it comes along from another user here, then you'll be set.

I saw that, right after having seen another post recommending the Clore PL2320 and ordering at the $87 sale price. Is a 20amp supply not going to be enough?

2023 XLT Purchased 1 week ago for a substantial discount. Downside is no TLC has been given to this poor fellow. Will get it up to speed.

I'm a bit frustrated that it's not UTD but this looks "do-able".
Note that there are some things only dealerships can do in FDRS due to added security. But from what I’ve read (but not done myself) there is a lot you can still do.

It is not big enough for the Lightning. The ICE guys can get away with that one.

Doh. Well, hopefully I can still cancel that order.
Heck, I'm not sure I've got a 20amp outlet available anywhere at home to power the PL6100. Maybe I should take a step back and think about this first.

The wired version of the Mongoose for Ford is back. Someone reported on the Mach E forum that there was also a $75 off coupon, but I don't see it, so it must have been a short lived Prime Days deal.

yeah some have used two cl2320's piggy backed but that's still only 40 amps but the non-usb updates like the IPMA can pull 60amps+ for 2 hours. Some have used a 20 to 15 adapter on the pl6100 similar to AC WORKS Plug Adapter 15 Amp Household Plug to 20 Amp T-Blade Female Outlet Adapter (NEMA 5-15P to 5-15/20R) M515520 - The Home Depot . Shouldn't come anywhere close to tripping a 15 amp breaker. As an alternative, I've used a Powermax PMBC-75 quite a few times and haven't had any issues. About $300 on Amazon and you can get one without cables for $150 if you happen to have a spare set of decent cables around
