I wonder if they have been getting some quiet push back from Tesla or even their internal lawyers. It's one thing to add an adapter that you can essentially have direct contacts with minimal wiring, and another to push huge amounts of power over an uncooled cable that can survive being tossed around in a trunk for potentially years and not have any wire exposure or anything that could be disastrous if the rubber outside cracks or is inadvertently cut.
I would put myself among those mentioned early in this thread saying there were doubts this would ever come to market. I still have some doubts even if they are fairly minimal given that they announced it at all.
