Love my truck but for most of our friends and neighbors EV makes no sense. Charging and traveling is a huge pain compared to a gas truck. Our use case is somewhat unique as we do not leave the county much.

I also think that we are now getting some EV disappointment with early adopters. The false promise of cheap or free charging, lower maintenance which is not the case for the F150 in my case for sure ( out of use a record 40 days for repair and maintenance in less than 2 years!).

Interesting comments and I certainly g don’t disagree with them. Ido think mostly that making more affordable models would be a big boost Within the industry, and although I really like and use my Lightning as daily driver, I would prefer something a bit smaller as very seldom use hauling capacity (although that ā€˜Frunk’ is invaluable!). i’d jump on a small truck (like Ridgeline) in either PHEV, with reasonable range, or full EV.

In the meantime, I’m getting the equivalent of 70 mpg in a full size pickup truck, that has almost no maintenance. I think the attitude will gradually change.

The figurehead also predicted that the onset of the Trump Administration and its attitude toward electric car-friendly policies like the IRA tax credits and the loosening of EPA fuel economy standards will stunlock EV demand for some time, even after a new president takes the seat at the Resolute desk.

So looks like EVs are on the slow slide for the next decade.
I think you mean IRS. The Irish Republican Army really has other priorities and your Individual Retirement Account isn't going to benefit much one way or the other.

In my unprofessional opinion of the business, I think this would force American manufacturers to build more smaller EVs which cost less to still be able to compete with foreign manufacturers that are going forward regardless.
