Towing Capacity Difference Lariat vs Platinum?

Doers anyone know why the Platinum has a Towing Capacity of 8500 and the Max Tow ER Lariat 10K? Why is there such a big difference between the two?

The Platinum has less payload capacity due to the wheels/tires and more/heavier onboard equipment. It is very likely related to that.
