You know how we are. We can wait for something our whole life and as soon as we get it, we’re happy for a few days and then we want the next thing.

Since I’ve owned my truck getting 1.4 has literally been all I have been interested in. It looks like a lot of us are finally at that point.

I received one update or two since then, with the walk away, locking feature.

But I’m wondering… What’s next on the horizon? Does anybody even know what the next big thing will be?

From my memory, when the 2024 truck came out and had the ability to run pro power with the truck off and see your charging speed on the dash when your truck is turned off, we were told those features would eventually come to the earlier lightning.

I guess that’s what I’m waiting for next. Would really like to be able to run pro power with the truck off.

Why would you expect Ford to keep adding new convenience items to a used truck with 30-80k miles? Their solution will eventually be: buy the next year model ...

Why would I expect it? Because they announced continual updates.

and their competition gives regular new updates.

I am a former Tesla owner, happy lighting owner.

but if I need to switch to another brand next time I will….

In this day and age, I expect continual improvement in a vehicle.

even my last f150 gas truck received updates.

The next big thing would be the old thing with zone lighting in fordpass.
Honestly, this should be an easy fix. I can already control my wife's zone lighting with the Home Assistant Fordpass integration. So it's already in the API.. They just need to update the app to make it visible and controllable.

The reason I bought a 23 over a 24 (Both were available when I bought) was my dealer and videos of a Ford engineer stating that pro power with truck off will be updated on 22's and 23's. I am already miffed that it's been 16month and I still don't have it. But if I don't end up getting that update, that's a broken promise and heads are going to roll.

Why would you expect to buy a phone or a computer and expect Apple/Google/Microsoft to keep adding new conveniences? Because in a software age, you can't expect buyers to buy a new truck that is virtually the same other than software every year. You throw customers some freebies and it keeps them loyal and interested in your brand. Competitors are already doing this. If you choose to be cheap and play games with your customers you will lose in the end. GM lost me solely for this reason.

Im not sure what the feature is called but on Hyundai you can get the vehicle to pull forward or reverse from a tight parking space so you can enter/exit with convienece. Considering the truck can parallel park it self why can it not move it self forward or back wards say 8 foot in a straightline? To me that should be an easy software feature to click on for certain trim levels?

I also thought I saw a promo for future feature the truck could follow you if you were walking in front of it with key fob in hand say at 5 mph or something slow just to allow you to move the truck with out being in it. Am I day dreaming or is this a feature that is being worked on?

Also Kia. Our EV6 with tech package, with the fob can, be moved forward and reverse and it keeps equal distance all around. I have used it to bring the vehicle remotely into the garage and it will rapidly steer while traveling slowly to keep it just right next to the lightning and side stairs.

It also parallel parks and perpendicular parks both forward or reverse into a spot, with or without someone in the vehicle.
