What does “released to carrier” mean?

Dealer told me they had a Lariat ER coming with “Arrival time says 10/17-10/23 but that can change due to the strike but that is what ford is telling us for arrival time” and then said that the latest as of today was that it was “released to carrier.” Anyone know if released to carrier means anything and how long it typically takes from then? Thanks!

The carrier could be a local transport from the main factory to a off site rail yard, or they are about load your truck on a rail car.

Today I've seen an example of a truck being delivered in California without first being logged as shipped, which is unusual, otherwise I would recommend that you look at your tracker every day for a change to shipped status or suddenly it being delivered to your dealer.
