This uses a 60 A breaker in the main panel and is wired with a pair of #6 wires for the power and a #8 for the ground. Our code only requires a #10 to ground something protected by a 60 A breaker, but I prefer to go up a step for grounding if it's not too much trouble or cost.
I'm surprised you discuss upsizing your ground while using #6 undersized (if it's romex) wiring for a 60A circuit.

I suggest everyone clarify whether one is using romex because its rated differently than free air installations.

I was quite clear about this being individual wires pulled in a conduit.

Whether you feel you were clear enough is irrelevant to my post that "everyone" in these discussions clarify (explicitly) whether they are discussing romex vs. free air installations.

The problem is that, and this includes your specific post, you provided a lot of information (including flipping between describing "8-3 wire" (romex?) and a "pair" of wires (THHN?), which doesn't explicitly denote free air...not really the point I'm discussing, however) without describing the differences between the temp ratings of the wires you were discussing.

There isn't anything in your post, nor anywhere else in this thread, that would indicate to someone a difference exists between 6 AWG romex and 6 AWG THHN, for example. So in a discussion among homeowners with, I think, one licensed electrician offering some corrections here, do you think that's an important distinction to clarify? I commented because of how prevalent these threads, and a lot of dangerous (mis)information, are on this board in particular and not a personal attack against you.

I was surprised you described your logic for the ground but didn't really discuss why you chose #6, which would be undersized if it was romex and would be important to know for anyone who wanted to follow your advice and go down to a big box store and just ask for #6 wire and install it without understanding why romex wouldn't work.

EDIT: and to be clear, I'm not a licensed electrician. I think Maquis might be one and that's who I was referring to as offering corrections here and there.
