Windshield Wipers are possessed

I don't have rain sensing wipers on my 2023 Pro. When it was new, sometimes the wipers were completely non-responsive. No indication they'd been energized. The problem was intermittent, and whenever I made an appointment- they'd start working again before the service date.
Eventually, the problem vanished for about 2 years.
Well, wiper issues have returned, in a different form.

Regular speed is non-responsive. All other setting work. All intermittent setting work, and the very fast setting works.

Now that the warranty has expired- is there a simple fix?
Has anyone experienced anything like this?

No experience with what you describe, but if it was my truck doing that I'd suspect a bad wiper switch.

Interesting. Ford did just recall a whole bunch of Mustangs affected by "windshield wipers functional only at their high-speed setting and [a] washing system [that] may fail to function properly."

Wonder if your issue is more widespread as well. Ford's already exceeded 200 recalls in a year and a half, so I wouldn't be surprised.

I agree mostly, most likely the switch.

Other things that can go wrong include:

Some module in the system has a problem and needs to be reset with FORscan or FDRS.
If you have FORscan check for any issues with the diagnositc menu - or maybe another scanner would find it?
Maybe someone knows which module could be involved?
A software update might have caused an issue, I have a 2023 Pro and never had that problem - haven't used the wipers in a week or so though.

There have also been reports of the F-150's having wiper motors that leak, that is, let water get in and that can cause bad behavior. Might try using a hair dryer on the motor and see if that will dry it out if that is the problem, then find some way to re-seal the thing - maybe an auto mechanic could explain how, or a YouTube video?

If it is the switch, my experience with stalk switches on other cars tells me they are pricey for the part and sometimes replacing them is a complex operation of basically taking everything on the steering wheel column apart, lol. Since there are explosive air bags in there not something I dealt with on my own, paid a mechanic who knew what they were doing to fix any switch on the steering column.

My 2001 Range had switches that went bad on that controlled the cruise control. There was a YouTube video on how to do it, but I paid someone to replace them after I bought them on-line due to the explosive air bag concern.
