I like the wood in my 2004 BMW 330Ci vert, but just can't see it for the truck. Great job applying it, though.

Interesting idea! I love the driftwood type colors i see in things like rivian sometimes. Your post has inspired me to consider giving it a shot in my lightning for a few bucks, but only if it’s removable. Any idea whether this stuff would leave a fun residue if it needed to come off?

It's removable. When used on the exterior it's supposed to be left on for 3-7 years. If I were to remove it today there wouldn't be any residue to speak of. I'm assuming there will be some amount of residue if/when I remove it in a few years, but I'm not all that worried about it.

Our Rivian has the dark ash interior. We were about a month too late to order it with the lighter "Forest Edge." It's hard to compare the two interiors. The F150 leans heavily on the utilitarian side of things. The Rivian is also quite practical, just much more software heavy. Everything is controlled digitally and much of the storage is out of sight. Ford wins on ride quality and comfort, but the Rivian's styling, software, and user interface are on a whole other level.

Totally agree with the "shades of gray" issue on... every. single. Lightning. Lariat.

So I did this on my Atlas Blue:

it's Katzkin. $1600 out the door. Proper leather.

Both look great! I knew I couldn’t be the only one that’s wrapped it.

I’m trying to decide which Katzkin style to get. Similar to the Ford interior, the platinum style just has so much going on. Admittedly, they do look right at home in the truck. I have heard from a lot of owners that they actually find the Lariat seats more comfortable, which makes sense to me given the larger pieces of upholstery. I’ll post pictures once they’re installed.
