Interesting, wish they would have come out with this sooner to pair with my powerwalls. In the Juicebox network now....

That's a nice setup. 48 amp charge capable for $550? I like the side holster. I wonder what kind of app/software is available for it.

I'm glad I only bought my portable unit, this is now on the running with the Emporia for my wall unit (depending on software).

Does this have adjustable amperage?

I believe it does.

I would've likely grabbed this if it was available a few months ago. It looks like it power shares with the standard Gen 3 Tesla charger, so it essentially would've saved me the cost of the Tesla Tap.

If I haven’t opened the box on the Charge Station Pro, but intend to install something before winter, what would the advantage be of this new Tesla setup over the CSP ?

It will most likely have a better build quality with better OTA support than the Ford one. But this is based off my experience with a Gen 2 that doesn’t have OTA updates. Hasn’t failed me in over 4 years. What I don’t know about this Tesla one is whether the app will be able to control charge capabilities and possibly show Charge Rate.

The biggest difference, and reason I wouldn't (since you have an ER which can handle up to 80a), is that the FCSP can charge up to 80a and provide power back to your house from the battery if needed (optional, expensive install). This new Tesla charger is limited to 48a and can't provide the backup ability.

My incoming truck is an SR, so I am limited to 48a by the truck. This Tesla charger would make more sense for me since I'm maxed out at 48a anyway.

Since you have a gen 2 tesla charger, do you have it configured for 80A? I have a gen2 sitting in a box and I've been too lazy/cheap to set it up and buy the 80A teslatap

No, it’s on a 60 amp since it was for my Model 3.

Just installed the Tesla J1772 wall connector charger. It’s getting the full 48amps and updated to 22.7 software. Now hopefully will get my truck soon to actually be able to use it.

I got it off Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PD9N6KR?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_RGX2JZBEP5M3SR851CXN)
$240, it is kinda pricy but I didn’t want to leave my charger exposed to the elements.

it’s got a temperature and moisture gauge on the side. Three digit combination lock. It’s very solid in construction. Weight is about 20lbs if i had to guess. I used 3/8” x 1 7/8” anchor screws from Home Depot to attach it to the brick wall.

Do you know if it has any smart features? Can you control charging from the Tesla app? My understanding is that Tesla briefly released a J1772 charger last year but it was a "dumb" charger.

I can't find any real information on this online. On Tesla's site if you click for more features it brings you to information about the regular Tesla wall charger.
