Decided to stop by an EA station to try out fast charging for the first time.
I needed to get somewhere, so only stuck around a short time.

Charger type: 350 kW "Hyper Fast" (per EA labelling)
Truck type: Lariat ER with Max Tow
Ambient temp: 58 F
Initial soc: 44%
Final soc: 66%
Charge time: 12 minutes
Total energy: 31.5175 kWh
Price: $0.00 (thanks EA!)

Was impressed to see that it was delivering from 170 kW to 178 kW for the first 5 minutes.

Sorry, not a great photo since there was a lot of glare on the screen.

I stopped earlier today, in Kennesaw GA(ATL)... 10 station EA, and plugged into the 350kw unit - saw 125-135kw for the most part of 15 minutes, from 27% to 77% total charge. It dropped to 99kw for the last few minutes, even before it hit 75%... strange.
I don't think these differences are from our trucks - they are the EA units, themselves.

for example, I stopped at two stations from Chargepoint, both as 'shared' 125kw units. While I've never seen ANY Chargepoint charge at more than 67kw or so, the left unit would only run up to 25kw, and the right unit only up to 50kw. My truck is the same truck, no matter what Chargepoint unit I pull up to, but none give more than 67... some less. EA tends to be higher, but it's also not something you can bank on.

My first Electrify America charge in the new truck went better than initially anticipated. Used the newly updated chargers in Loveland, CO and maxed at 178kW for a period of time before yo-yoing between 140kW and 160kW for a while. Then dropped to 125kW when I passed 60% battery charge level.

I went from 21% to 70% in 22 minutes loading 55kwH. I realize that will not happen at all EA chargers, but good to know the truck has potential to charge relatively quickly, and with room for improvement.

My experience with EA has been horrible. 350KW stations on I-10 gave me 36 and 43 KW. The 150KW would give me 135 for a few minutes then fault. I reported it. Came back the next day with the same experience.
