EDIT: I'd originally posted about the MX+, but as noted by Vandy1981 below, that wasn't BLE. Updated for OBDlink CX

Anybody else used this yet in their Lightning? Unless I hear otherwise I'll be buying it and hoping it will help w/ our trip from Orange County to Vail, CO...with stops in the Big 5 Utah parks.

ABRP works natively with our Polestar since the app is available in Android Automotive, and while the traffic data may not be as good as Waze, want to have it as a backup to whatever Ford offers natively.

Yes, I use the MX+ to speak to Lightning. I use Torque Pro with a set of MME PIDs to read charge information - it seems like Lightning might use a couple of different calculations though (e.g., when charging at 80A, it shows 40A, but when charging at 10A it says 10A).

I bought one during Amazon Prime Days for the same purpose…took my truck home yesterday…the upcoming week will be the opportunity to install and experiment.

@FlasherZ , any suggestions for using it to read/view useful, real-time data for trip planning/monitoring? BTW, I appreciate your analytical testing of the FCSP! ….following….

I may not be the right person to ask with regard to that - I typically use OBD for diagnostics. I especially needed it with my Powerstroke 6.0 and to read the codes from my sons' Pontiacs. I am using it with the Lightning to view charging information that Ford just doesn't give you (power levels).

But I'd love to see someone else teach me stuff I can use. I'd love to see a Tesla-like graph of energy use while driving, instead of a static, non-precision miles per kWh number.

Thank you for your kind words on the FCSP. I have some more data to throw up there this afternoon.

Abrp will likely provide better trip planning than ford with ODB data. I use it for my Ioniq 5. But waiting for truck to verify and see how ford does it. I might do a little write up when my truck comes, I think I should get it this coming week.

Carscanner app for more details around battery state.

My guess is that Car Scanner will have the same problem with the ACInA (AC input amps) is not going to be correct and needs to be corrected for the Lightning. I'm doing some captures to see if I can determine when the current shifts to a new scale so I can correct it on Torque Pro.

I’ll have a 1,200 mile trip to report back on before end of August :)

Is there any way to pull this data via CarPlay directly? I know you can pull it from a Mach-E into Apple Maps, not sure if it works with either ABRP or Lightnings.

My assumption is the ABRP app will pull it directly into it, and that will display via CarPlay on the screen. So it should feel pretty native.

On the 40 amp is it likely just seeing one of the two chargers? Not getting both streams. To charge at 80 amp you are using 2 40 amp chargers in the truck.

I don’t think the MX works with ABRP. You need a BLE-compatible reader like the OBDlink CX.

I have the OBDlink CX and it works great with ABRP and CarScanner on my Android phone.

I originally tried the Veepeak OBDcheck and Vgate Vlinker BLE OBD readers. The Veepeak would not link with ABRP and the Vlinker froze frequently and needed resets.

I haven’t had a chance to use ABRP live data on any road trips since I got the OBDlink so I can’t vouch on the accuracy of the app.

Ah, I didn't realize that they used the dual-charger mechanism (Tesla's first approach). I'm familiar with that approach, but that makes life dififcult for calculating it. I wonder if Ford sets a bit when load balancing the multiple chargers.
