Folks,

Mia anyone else stuck in shipped status? I live an hour from atlanta… my truck was built early Aug and was due 9/15 roughly.
It’s been in atlanta at the railway since early Sept and I assume waiting on a. Convoy. Just got another delay back to 11/15 now.

has anyone else gotten stuck in 60+ days to deliver? Any ideas of issues in atlanta or production issues being fixed or repaired before delivery? Thanks!

Could the Florida storm have caused a diversion of truck drivers to Florida, causing shortage of drivers in Georgia?

There is a list of us from 8/8 and 8/15 build week that are > 50 days since ship! Some I believe are now >75 days since build. I’m in Wisconsin and most the others are in California so it is not hurricane related

Delays all around. Mach E forum has similar threads except their cars are stuck south of Kansas City. Richard’s-Gebauer Mo. an old airport on ramp 6. Lightning forum is lucky to have Taxmanhog to provide the metrics!
Below was my post in the Mach e forum last night
“My Texas bound GT PE was built 9/14 and arrived in Missouri 9/27. A month ago. Now sitting 800 miles from the dealer which BTW is 1 mile off the rail line from Lecheria Mexico going thru Texas to the old Mo airport Ramp 6. Literally a former airport ramp / Tarmac.

What puzzles me is Ford’s lack of information, tracking, and their apparent financial ignorance. I worked 40 years at a (one time) Fortune 10 company. We did everything in our authority to capitalize / monetize investments as quickly as legally possible. I find it very hard to understand the lack of fiduciary responsibility at Ford to have thousands of built vehicles sitting for months on the books instead of creating better logistics operations to get the product in customers hands and cash in the bank. I don’t know for sure, maybe someone knowledgeable on here can speak to when the vehicle is no longer the manufacturers and becomes the dealerships inventory. Is this the infamous invoice date we see on the window sticker? Does some other Ford held company take ownership at invoicing date so the manufacturer could give a shit about when customers get their vehicle because those metrics show up on someone else’s red yellow green report and not manufacturing? Sorry. Venting. I went thru this same period of frustration very recently with a Lightning.”

Just speculation-truck drivers may be in short supply in the Southern regions due to all of the work down in Southwest Florida after the damage from Ian? They built three sections of a bridge to Sanibel Island built a few weeks after the storm, and there is a LOT of recovery and rebuilding work going on. Again, more speculation, but I would imagine, many truck drivers may have headed to where there is a lot of work, and perhaps that is causing a shortage of drivers who may be driving the carriers from the rail yards to the dealerships.

Ford may have not control or visibility there.

To a point, I know my vehicle was unloaded by Norfolk Southern at Port Wilmington, DE yesterday, and it was great to call NS's toll free line for updates. I decided to check with Ford Chat to see if they had any idea if my vehicle had been picked up yesterday or today by a truck to take to my dealer in Central NJ. Nope. Nada. Nothing. They just spit out my delivery window (which I already gave to them) and a litany of things that can delay my delivery and to work with my dealer on this issue.

Frankly, I think we have gotten a bit spoiled being privy to all of this information, almost like having a view into the manufacturer's Just In Time manufacturing process, coupled with the delivery tracking via rail. I saw on a Bronco forum, one guy was so neurotic about knowing exactly when and where his Bronco was, he looked up and called 10 different trucking companies near the railyard where his Bronco landed, and actually found the carrier.

While I would love to know where my Lightning is and when it will arrive at the dealer, I am going to wait and hope it is in the Nov. 6-12 window Ford gave me. On the other hand, part of me wants to go to the top of the Commodore Barry Bridge over the Delaware River and peer down to Port Wilmington with binoculars to see if I can spot my Lightning.

It's most likely not all shipping. Mine has been at a rail yard 20 miles from my dealer since Sept 9 for a "quality control" issue. The crazy thing is that these trucks are sitting around waiting on either a part/inspection/whatever, only from a 2-3 week production period. I'm starting to worry these weeks fell through the cracks of waiting for something, which is dumb because they sent them across the country needing something. The following production weeks sat at ramp 51, the chips/etc. came in, got installed, and the trucks were delivered. It's like they changed their process and completely overlooked the fact that they now have random trucks littered around in rail yards. Most annoying is that they've pumped out 2800 trucks a week between Sep 11 production week and early Oct, with plenty of them being delivered (based on the spreadsheet tracker). Too bad @FordMotorCompany is only here to congratulate people on deliveries and say how great the trucks are...

How many delivery windows have you blown through? Cuz after three, totalling almost two months' time, with zero explanation, you start to get a bit frustrated. When my truck said 14-20 Sep for delivery and I could see the shipping order with United Auto, I started looking to sell my current truck. Then, the delivery was cancelled Sep 17th and the shipping window just keeps getting pushed right. Glad I didn't move on the offers, but it sucks seeing interest rates climbing, trade-in values dropping, and the extended warranty almost doubling in price, all with no explanation. When I ordered my wife's Tesla, a month out our delivery window stabilized, but a few days before I got a text that they were having issues getting a truck to bring the vehicles from the rail yard to the service center for prep, and that it would be three days past the window. Three days past the window, the Tesla was dropped off in my driveway. From a company notorious for terrible communication.

I feel your pain. This is my first delivery window, and I was not trying to be preachy. I agree, it sucks. And since Ford is changing delivery windows, they MAY have more information than they let on. However, I'm guessing a lot of it is out of their hands. Be on the lookout for me ranting and raving if I don't have my Lightning on or before Nov. 12. We kind of banked on that window and sold our old car yesterday, primarily because the inspection is due on Monday, and we did not want to deal with it. A lot of what you say justifies being ticked off. Ford could and should do better. I gotta get back to the bridge!

Totally agree that @Ford Motor Company has not been helpful at all. I reached out via chat to them and they tell me the same thing that Ford Chat tells me. Go talk to dealer. Dealer tells me Ford has a hold on my vehicle. Why would Ford Corporate tell me to go talk to the dealer when they know full well that the dealer cannot do anything about it. This process has been so frustrating. Lack of clear communication and setting expectations that were not at all realistic, e.g. delivery date already two months over their original window.

Didn't mean to sound rude, realized it was a little snarkier than intended. But my truck being late is 100% on Ford, and I'm pretty sure most people from production weeks 8/15 and 8/18 are in the same boat. They probably shipped it missing a part and are taking their sweet time getting around the country to fix them instead of leaving them at the factory like the following weeks and taking care of them in a timely fashion. There are a few outliers where rail strikes and weather could affect the shipping, but the loudest complaints right now seem to be the folks that can go watch their trucks sit in the weather, waiting.

Just a random fun fact; a vehicle can develop flat spots on their tires due to sitting for only 30 days. Add 2500lbs over "normal" curb weight due to batteries and I think a lot of people are going to need new tires after this, bc I doubt the rail yard workers are rolling the trucks around...

This is the lucky list sorted by Shipping Time. For reference prior to today only 9 trucks that took More than days and 3 that took more than 50. LUCKY US!

CONGRATS! WE ARE NOW One Percenters!

@Ford Motor Company We good with this? How long is acceptable? How long until someone intervenes? How long before you provide transparent communication? 2 months, 6 months, 1 year?!?
Here’s a thread I was hoping to never be a part of! So disappointing. I echo all the points made by y’all. I found one of you on Twitter and will continue to like/retweet the concerns as well.

@TaxmanHog - do you have any insight on how many customers this forum represents as a percentage of all Lightning buyers? 2%? %5%. More? I wonder how many of us total there are.

If you look up other ford customers, the news does not get better with us being this “special”. It’s not just Lightning’s, or trucks, it’s across the whole lineup.

And when our delivery dates get rolled forward by a month at a time now, it means there really is no plan in place.

Ugh.
