Copilot knows the free adapter delivery dates

I was somewhat early ordering my adapter but never knew my order number or expected delivery date.
I called the Lightning desk at Ford, and suffered through a robot “receptionist.” The woman I talked to found my order number, 6400, but could not tell me the expected delivery date.
Microsoft has a free AI app called “Copilot.”
On a lark, I asked it something like, “Delivery date for Ford Lightning charging adapter order 6400.”
Within seconds, it told me some information about the adapters and said my delivery date was May.

I wouldn't put too much credence in that, seeing that everyone's order has been delayed. My order number is 1376, was initially scheduled for April delivery and has been delayed to June.

The way that these large language models (LLMs) work, if they do not have an answer they will just make it up. What you witnessed is commonly referred to as a hallucination. I bet it saw something about May deliveries and applied that to your order. Check the link sfringer posted and don't trust everything you get from an AI.

THIS is one of the great dangers of AI. People think the internet has factual information, which of course we all know now is not true with social media and anyone becoming an "expert". Now, you add in AI, which makes things up also. And people think it's fact.

I also despise the push on these "ai" bots. "ai" is a buzzword to spur investment in the tech sector, the reality is that it's mostly malarky. Microsoft can't even make a good search engine to begin with so I doubt co-pilot has anything of value to contribute.

I‘m about a hundred behind you and my date was moved to June. There is a link now at the top of the Ford.com home page that will let you check your date.

FYI, not everyone got delayed. Mine stayed the same (estimated delivery date).

I believe that all April and May orders got delayed. If you showed a June or later date prior to the delay, it didn't change IMO because they haven't yet moved those out.

Yeah, mine is June. I'm in no rush, I survived just fine before.

FYI, my order, 5033, was originally slated for delivery in May, and has been changed to June.

Thanks for the reminder - Found email confirmation from Mar 8. Checked Fords online status - it is now saying September 2024. Seriously? I have a few trips this summer that I was banking on having this tool. Ford - you have really screwed over your brand advocates

I ordered mine right after purchasing my Lightning in Mid March and mine is September as well. Beyond disappointed to say the least.

Ordered mine in 2/29/2024 and Ford says delivery date is still the same as when I ordered it, June. So so far no delay here.
