Well, maybe they should try doing the programming when the 12V battery isn't at 29% SOC and use a powersupply. That would help. (Insert Ron White quote here).

Well that explains that. I'll definitely be calling them as soon as they open if not leave a message now before they do damage with something that will take longer to resolve. Thanks you @Mike G for looking into that and tracing the problem down.

Update: No updates ?. Stopped by Monday and they charged the 12v battery to 80% and tried again. Still getting failures. They were closed on my way home today (Tuesday) due to the snow coming in.

They gave me a loaner yesterday. It’s a 21’ Bronco Sport. Spacious interior, but going to this after 2.5 years all electric is shocking. Gas feels so inefficient and “clobbered together”. I truly feel like if most people drove an equivalent electric to their current car for a month then the traditional gas car market would collapse. And that’s even with the current issue with firmware on the truck.

So I was told to bring my truck back in today and they'll try to do this CSP 24B56 install again. Back in October when the CSP failed I was told they were going to have to replace the sensor.

I didn't notice any coming home, I won't have much of a chance to drive it until tomorrow and over the weekend. I did make sure that I had full 360° image and it was normal. Keeping fingers crossed. Thanks for asking.

My truck is at the dealership now for this update. They called and said that my 12 volt battery is showing 31% and that I will need to spend $206 for a new one. I have had no issues with my 12 volt prior to this. Granted it has been well below freezing for over a week here, but my truck remains plugged in when at home. Is there any reason they couldn’t just charge my 12 volt and continue with the update. My truck is a 22 with 63k and this is the original battery. I’ve gotten OTAs and never had any issues or alerts about the 12 volt. Seems odd.

I'm getting my truck back today after work. I have a strong suspicion they temporarily put in another 12V battery (on a charger) to complete the update, then swapped my original battery back in. I'm anxious to see if any issues come up after this.

As Joneii said about his truck, my truck is a 22 with 55k miles and I've had no issues with the 12V battery so far (that I know of). Who knows if OTA updates have failed or were left in a pending state for extended periods due to the 12V, but overall I think I'm current when I checked a few months back.

My plan is to replace the 12V in the Lightning when it fails. I have a key and can get into the cab to manually open the frunk, so no issue there.

I'm really considering replacing my husband's 12V battery at the 3-year mark in his Mach-E. I definitely don't want one of us to get stranded. I've heard too many horror stories where the front jump points (in the bumper) fail to activate if there is a lingering charge in the 12V. Definitely something to think about fall of 26.

I'll report back any issues. Hopefully it's smooth sailing here on out.

My wife picked up my truck the first time so I did not have the opportunity.

The reminder that I gave the phone rep to have the service tech double check that it was done correctly roughly 1 hour before it was picked up was not enough!

I took my 23 Lariat ER into the shop to have the front sensors reprogrammed and now have more issues. Now;
1. the drivers seatbelt bell sounds sometimes if I don’t have the seatbelt on.
2. rear sensors have the “sensor blocked“ warning, same as before the update.
3. key sensor as you approach the truck doesn’t work now.
4. drivers door lock and unlock feature is the only door that locks or unlocks the truck now.
5. The infotainment system connects with Apple play intermittently.
6. battery issues telling me the truck is going into battery saver mode, drive truck to reestablish connection.

Correct one thing and a bunch more issues come up. Still no 1.4, the service advisor said Ford isn’t allowing them to do 1.4 updates in the shop and has to be OTA. I‘ll probably be getting the truck back in the shop next week and will keep my fingers crossed.

Not just the techs, but what about the techs bosses/supervisors who should know better!

Update: The dealership called and said the update was done. I asked if the tech could verify that the 360 camera was full size. They said the tech would do everything they needed to. I tried to explain the issues noted here. They said it was good. Well, of course when I got there and checked the camera, it was small. The truck is spending the weekend there and I’m buying gas for the loaner. Ugg!
