Oh, interesting anecdotal data point for all the EV FUD out there. Trip down and back to get my truck was almost exactly 400 miles each way - nominally a 6 hour non-stop drive. Our rental ICE F150 had the large fuel tank and made the trip without refueling, still with bio-breaks and traffic it took us 8.5 hours down (on a Sunday).

Coming back, we did the trip in 7.5 hours in the Lightning. On a Monday through DC rush hour traffic.

Ok - I just realized this morning that my truck isn't getting a GPS location (built in map shows the truck in the middle of the ocean with a blinking '?' on it). That explains hands-free not engaging and the clock not wanting to auto-update since it can't figure out what time zone it is in.

Are the GPS system and Audio system connected in any way?

The only thing that could explain a trip taking that much longer for breaks would be a Buc-ee's, but I don't think you have them up there yet. Just be prepared - they can be a guaranteed hour stop and will drain your wallet.

Nope - No Buc-ees up here yet as far as I have seen, but I have heard about them!

It wasn't the breaks, it was the traffic. I think what it really shows is that real world travel impacts can be much more than any delays for charging.

I think they just opened one a little west of Manassas.

For my Ford Navigation problem, showing our coastal road location out in the ocean (and other weird 1/4 to 30 mile mis-locations) with extra shaky location arrow, Ford tech support said dealer should change out TCU (telematics control unit). @Jesse-Infotainment surmised the problem to be the GPS antenna (passenger side roof). Truck stuck at dealer (13 days so far) for that and 25s18 hv battery module replacement. I am hoping that they can finish withing next 2 weeks, but not confident with lack of attention so far. @Ford Motor Company needs to bigly improve.

I believe that's the one out near Harrisonburg/JMU at Mount Crawford. They're trying to open one closer to NoVA, in Stafford, but meeting resistance from the town. I think they're opening one down in the Williamsburg area too. Buc-ee's is a trip. Like a cross between a Walmart, Wawa, and something else I can't put my finger on at the moment.

I know that either MB or Tesla (or both at some locations) provide charging stalls but I wish they'd up the ratio compared to the over 100 gas pumps.

Yes, and your truck is still reporting the same lost comms code between the radio and other modules. Not sure what they did or didn't do, but something is still not right.

Random thought based on all of the leaking issues I had a few weeks ago. Could water have gotten into one of antenna "pods" and shorted out both the Audio and GPS systems?

Sorry, no idea how they are wired or if that makes any sense.

No idea, but something is for sure going on there that needs to be addressed.

OMG, DC rush hour has been rated the worst in the country in many years - I used to cope with it twice daily when I worked downtown doing patent law - so glad work from home is now a viable option!

And the Wilson Bridge is almost always a bottleneck for east coast commuters especially when the sun is low in the sky (it is a mostly east-west bridge) or when it opens - yes they put a drawbridge on interstate 95! Go figure.

I remember when they first "finished" 495 in 1964 - I put finished in quotes because they seems to always be working on it.

That interchange at Springfield where 95-South separates from 495 is like something out of MC Escher. And drivers unfamiliar with it and the choices are always confused, I always slow down approaching it because there are so many vehicles trying to get to the other side of the road, like chickens?

Then there are always the lost souls who follow I-95 into DC where it ends abruptly...fewer now that they call it 395.

Yeah when I worked at the Springfield Caliber & lived in Woodbridge, that 4 leaf clover construction was a mess.
