Confirmed Motorized Rotary Shifter Part Numbers – Verification Project

I’m compiling a verified list of Ford rotary shifter part numbers.

The current working theory is that part numbers starting with LX6P or LX6Z typically refer to motorized rotary shifters. These are commonly used in 2020–2022 Escape, Bronco Sport, and others.


I’m hoping to collect real-world confirmations so we can build a reliable cross-reference list for retrofits and replacements.


If you’ve used one of these parts, please reply with the following:

1. Part number (example: LX6P-7P155-EH)
2. What vehicle it came from (year and model)
3. Whether it is confirmed to be motorized (yes/no)
4. Any other notes (source, behavior, fitment issues, etc.)

Motorized Rotary Shifters

These rotary shifters have a built-in motor that automatically rotates the knob into "Park" when the vehicle powers off.

Interesting. I went back to see what I purchased and installed and don’t find numbers that correspond to the ones you’ve listed.

It works perfectly fine. It does not have motorized return to park, but it does have the blue accent lighting at its base.

I bought the same one which is what started this whole thing. I didn't realize there is a motorized version that doesn't continue scrolling once you reach the end of the "Gears". The motorization is just a "cool to have". The prices (and availability) are just all over the place and wanted to create a reference so people can find the features they want and find a good price based on what is being listed.

I'm honestly surprised the Mach-e's don't use them since they are usually more likely to get the "High tech" components by default compared to ICE.

Maybe the grass is always greener, but I’d rather have a NON motorized (but lit) version. I have the motorized version installed. Would be nice if a list were compiled for both types.

The motorized one stops when you hit the end of the gear selection. Its just preference.

Based on those posts, it seems the shifter has basic functionality, but that you’d lose some features with it.

You can continue to spin it after you hit drive. I would have to check if it stops going left once you hit park. Guessing it would from the park safety.

It doesn't skip from drive to park.

The only issues I've had is that it sets the park brake if you open a door or power down while not in park. When I go to move again I have to manually release the park brake.
The auto hold switch works correctly on mine.
The L button does work to lock the vehicle in neutral for extended periods. I specifically check this after installation because there has been discussion about how the L or M buttons work when replacing the lever.

On mine, the knob will spin infinitely spin either direction if you are in R, N, or D. If I am in park, the knob will not spin either direction unless the correct parameters have been met to shift out of park. If I am in park with the brake pressed, I can spin the knob counterclockwise. It will remain in park if I do this. If I am in gear and spin counterclockwise, the knob will turn infinitely until I stop. It will then shift to park and the knob will lock.
