No more Lane Centering while trailering?

Since I bought my truck I the summer of 2022, it has always had true BlueCruise (Hands-free) but when trailering was limited to Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering (ACC/LF, formerly called BLueCruise Hands-on).

At some point an update seemed to have killed that feature. For all of the trip we are currently on, the Lightning has no lane centering while towing.

No Blue Bubble of Happiness, no matter if we are on a two-lane, four-lane, divided, highway, or any other road. It doesn't matter if we are in Normal or Tow/Haul mode.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?


BlueCruise (Hands-free) still works fine whenever we drop the trailer.

Ordered a trailer adapter back in January to fool the truck into showing the mirror cameras on turn signal back and lane-centering, cross-traffic alert etc were disabled then.

I wouldn't want the truck to try and override me during towing... Lanes opening up for exit on and off ramps, single lane opening up into a double, double lane dropping lines to left or right merge into a single lane, I need to take a viewable turn a little wider, blah blah blah. I hate it during non towing driving where it rapidly tries to correct and I am having to fight it to not try and recenter... With a trailer the last thing I want is it to create trailer sway... That's just my opinion and experience.

Lane keeping assist and lane centering assist are different.

Lane centering has never been enabled while trailering as far as I recall.

So just to confirm, LKA used to work when not hauling a trailer, but now doesn’t work whether hauling or not?

On my 2023 Lariat, BlueCruise Hands-on has never been active while towing. I haven't noticed if LKA works since when I trailer, I'm on the wheel driving. I rarely use adaptive cruise while towing since I prefer to slow down earlier than adaptive cruise does with a multi-thousand pound trailer pushing the truck.

Blue Cruz has never worked for me with me towing my trailer. However, Laney assist has always worked with the cruise control on.
