Recently hit this issue on my 2023 XLT SR.
Timeline:
15 days from experiencing the issue to fix seems pretty good based on reading others experiences. Only critiques is poor communication from the dealer, but that is unfortunately expected, and not having Broncos in their courtesy vehicle fleet. I am interested in buying a Bronco as a secondary car and would have loved to spend the off time from the Lightning getting a feel for the potential buy. Probably would have bought one after the service was done given the opportunity to drive it.
Timeline:
- Nov. 6th
- Alert notification "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power" fired
- Nov. 7th
- Attempted to charge on a ~6 kWh charger
- Hit a charge-fault (red circle at charge port) after reaching 64%
- Nov. 10th
- Took it into dealer
- Dealer notified me issues were due to a faulty battery module
- Nov. 13th
- Battery module shows up to dealer
- Dealer estimates it will be completed by next week
- Nov. 19th
- Dealer calls to notify after replacement they found another bad battery module
- Second battery module arrived
- Nov. 21st
- Vehicle is ready for pick up
- Lagging braking on one-pedal driving mode
- Reduced power to ~50%
- Miles: ~16,890
- Build date: 10/23
- Driven exclusively in Southwest, USA region
