Wow, you did it! Lol

Looking forward to your impressions after your trip.
Pushing 500 Mile range is nuts-
But no CarPlay or Android Auto, right? I hear the GM infotainment is craptastic. And they will charge you sub fees? Any self driving like BlueCruse?

I have read about Solid State batteries for years and have been waiting (hoping) for this shoe to drop.

Solid State batteries are a total gamechanger in range, weight, charging speed.

Make it so….
Can’t wait to swap these in

Some may take this as a dumb statement but, I think this unplugging of the Lightning is only going to be temporary. It's a proven solid truck and all evidence points to the Lightnings that are on the road now, will be on the road for a very long time.

As far as ford losing money by making them, I'm guessing that that was mostly a bs excuse. I think it was a lot of pressure and arm twisting from the anti EV and anti green movement that's taking place right now.

I see Ford changing their mind and restarting the Lightning production line in a few more years. I think Ford is cutting their nose off to spite their face, to not piss off certain powerful industries.

In a few years, the dust will start to settle with all of the anti green movement and I see Ford bringing back the Lightning because the outcry will be too loud for Ford not to bring it back.

Don't get bent all out of shape from my statement... that's just an opinion of a happy and proud Lightning owner. 😎

Real change takes time, especially when powerful forces are aligned against it. But, this shall pass. This is the future. Or else humans have no future.

The thought that these will be collectible, IMO is a fantasy. As the batteries age there won't be replacements. Get out when you can before 2035. They will be worthless. Again, IMO.

I would rather have a cybertruck then an EREV anything. @Ford Motor Company
I love my 2022 Lariat ER. Too bad they are moving to EREV. I hope that by 2030 they regret and start making them again, otherwise I will have to pray for Tesla to make a real truck just like the actual lightning.

While I already voiced my opinion about Mr. Farley’s leadership on quality and EVs, a little part of me wonders whether he is just saying what he needs to say to pacify the current administration, and whether the next lightning (nearing the end of the current term) will indeed have BEV and EREV options.

I have zero interest in a EREV, so I have begun weighing my options: keep the Lightning when the lease is up, or buy a different brand. But I don’t want a GM because CarPlay is important to me, and I am not sure I would be happy with a Rivian because I like the size of the F150. First World Problems I guess!!! 🧐

That's my guess. Methinks Farley and company will about face with the next administration since the odds favor the party changing.

Late to the party......but disappointing to say the least is the word.
We will be behind the rest of the world within 3 years. Too many knee jerk reactions with many things in our country w/o any thought to the long term.
I researched the heck out of BEV's for over a year prior to purchasing a '24 Lightning Flash. I think it's one of the best BEV's on the road and that was made by a legacy manufacturer, regardless of its flaws(which all vehicles have).
The Flaw with all of this is our charging infrastructure.....if we had better leadership overall and from the legacy manufacturers to support a robust charging infrastructure, things would look brighter for our country.
Either way, I'll hang onto my Flash as long as she gets me down the road w/o having to buy gas or oil.
If we can eventually switch our batteries out for a solid state one, even better in my opinion.

I give Ford a grade of “F” when advertising and promoting the Lightning. It is pretty bad when you have a NHL Hockey Team named the Lightning and you display ICE Ford trucks at their arena entrance. In addition, when you have dealerships who do not want to sell the Lightning, what else could one expect for an outcome. I was flat out told you do not want one of these vehicles when looking to purchase a Lightning. I can definitely understand Ford’s economies of scale issue but they definitely need to assume responsibility due to the aforementioned. Obviously, the anti-EV sediment is a different story. If they could have just gotten potential purchasers behind the wheel for a test drive, I believe many more trucks would have been sold. It is hard to fathom anyone not liking the better acceleration, torque, ride quality, handling, quietness, frunk, interior space, home charging cost savings versus gas, and minimal maintenance expenditures.

I would also estimate that 90% of the driver’s of pickup trucks in my area never tow or tow very infrequently. If one does tow and has to charge the truck on the road, I can definitely see the frustration with the lack of pull through charging stalls. If not towing, the charging infrastructure has greatly improved in my state with access to Tesla, Electrify America becoming more reliable, along with the emergence of BP Pulse, Circle K, MB, and Ionna station installations over the last 18 months. Unfortunately, many EV owners have experienced the truck before the cart issue when it comes to charging.

I do hope that Ford reconsiders having both a BEV and EREV versions of the Lightning versus just the EREV. Maybe changes in future battery technology will allow Ford to reconsider their future plan. The benefit of a EREV does not align with my use case. Having owned many different Ford vehicles over my lifetime along with many other manufacturers vehicles, I honestly have to say that the Lightning has been my favorite vehicle to drive.

Agreed the ad marketing and dealer marketing was piss poor.

I can relate to the dealer issues mentioned above.....I knew more about the vehicle than the salesperson did-at all the Ford dealerships I visited prior to picking one for purchase.
