That “if”, pretty sure at this point it’s more of a how much of a scam? Like did you make a slightly better version of something already in production? That’s cool and next slide.
I think they do which is driving the skepticism, myself included... but if this is vaporware or an incremental improvement on existing tech... they won't even get the headlines again next time around (except to say "more fake claims from Donut Labs"). It just makes no sense for them to flat out lie about it knowing it will be torn apart and analyzed bit by bit and all claims will be proven or debunked.
Why not just "open the kimono" then -- it's because they have nothing. Why did Theranos claim they could do what they said they could do for years despite the fact that they couldn't?
It could be the most brilliant marketing move in history if they slowly open it, revealing bit by bit proving it out, while increasing reach with each release. I sincerely hope that happens (But I'm doubtful). because I think we all need a healthy dose of "they said it and it was true" these days...
Which one are you seeing that says less efficient? The best "debunk" I saw was from 2bitdavinci and he said it tracks with the same characteristics of a non-solid state battery (can't remember the exact chemistry cited), except thermals which were left unexplained. He said even if it was the same chemistry, it was the highest performing version of it. I haven't seen any that say it's underperforming current specs. Still a lie if that's the case...
I haven't watched that one yet, but the guy Taxman linked said the same thing. The characteristics match liquid electrolyte, but it is higher energy density than any on the market right now. He was confident enough to say he'd donate $5000 to the charity of Donut Lab's choice if a teardown of the cell shows it is solid state.
I was literally just thinking about this because I’m looking at a fomoco kit for my insight and the guy who makes them said do not store in your garage. Really simple thing to do, but it would probably be like the Bradley test scene in pentagon wars.
is the most recent not well done but in my limited knowledge, his math seems correct. It isn’t definitive but it certainly indicates it is not the breakthrough we all want.
