Rust notes near the rear motors when looking randomly under the ~TRUCK~

Have a 2-month-old 2025 F-150 flash that had been sitting at the dealer for a while. Attached a picture.

Any reason to worry about this? Don't have any actual problems just wondering if this is normal

That is just surface rust on the half shafts. Normal and nothing to worry about.

Not in the least, sorry that many newbies don't understand my frustration with ignorance.

Surface rust is normal on any vehicles certain parts.

The drive shaft in my other truck is the same way from u joint to u joint.

Ya, they come standard like that. I have no idea why they didnt paint them at the manufacturer.

And old saying by teachers was "there is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid answers."
But even they would get frustrated now and then and start juggling their chalk.

In law school, the professors did the asking, and we heard a lot of 'stupid answers' that clearly indicated the student had NOT read the material ahead of time, a big no-no. Just imagine going into court unprepared and having a judge ream you out or worse, losing a case for your client.

On the other hand, my dad used to say "Patience is a virgin."
(Hope no one is offended by that, IT'S A JOKE!)

Hope it doesn't deter you from asking questions in the future.
There is a lot that has been figured out about our trucks, but a lot that hasn't.

Speaking for myself, I can say I have learned quite a bit from the questions people ask when they encounter something unexpected, or have some kind of major system failure (knock on wood), or just another glitch caused by an OTA (over the air) update.

My mantra is put your 12v battery on a maintainer with an AGM mode when you are not using the truck and you will avoid a lot of error messages and other problems like premature 12v battery death...so before that happens to you, here's a suggestion.
