Turn signal lever not returning to neutral after left hand turn.

This late winter-early spring I noticed that when I made a left hand turn, the turn signal lever would not return to neutral after the truck had straightened up after the left hand turn.

Right hand turns no problem. As the weather warmed up the left hand return improved as if it was a sort lubricant issue?

Trucks going in for its 60K checkup, this item included. Wondered if anyone else has noticed this odd lever behavior?

Mine sometimes sticks when initiating a BlueCruise lane change. There's nothing you can do about it unless you want to change the whole stalk.

I had it happen. Was worried cuz it was super inconvenient. It happened after I had to hold the stalk down while it was returning to center from a turn. It was like was like cracking a knuckle and having it get hung up mid crack! Anyway, it managed to work itself out after a few days. Maybe up to 2 weeks. Like it just clicked harder one day and everything was back to normal.

Mines been doing it now that it is warm (hot actually) outside. It did it last summer too. I don't recall mine doing it in winter.

Now I gotta remember when it happened. I think it was mid fall for me. Not hot weather but if it happens again now that it is hot, I'll notate here or another similar post. I think I posted about my similar issue when it happened.

I think the sticking turn lever has been an issue in F-150's for some time.

There is a YouTube video explaining how to clean the thing...see if I can find it...nope.

Essentially you open up the steering wheel column cover and spray the switch with electrical contact cleaner.

If that doesn't fix it, then replace it - there is a DIY video or two on Youtube about that.

BTW, you could spend hours looking at all the F-150 problem videos on Youtube, from water leaks to shifters sticking to 12v battery issues...our trucks have some of those 'legacy' issues, alas.

There is a YouTube video explaining how to clean the thing...see if I can find it...nope.

My 2023 XLT started doing this when it’s hot out but the opposite way. it’ll stick on right hand turns and then I have to really yank pretty hard on it to get it to come back to center. I took it to the dealer but unfortunately, during cooler weather and they said there’s nothing they can do about it because they couldn’t replicate the problem. It started happening to me around 20,000 miles and I’m at 37,000 now. I think this is not a lightning issue. I have read about it in the ice forms as well.

That's eerily similar mileage to mine for when it started and the mileage I have now.

haha. Been there fixing our dryer & washing machine. thanks for the reminder. I was debating about stuffing a fine point silicone spray nozzle between the plastic gaps and get lube at the critical point. It’ll take a diagram to figure that out!

I've got just over 15K miles on mine, and I've been noticing this pretty regularly when merging left that the blinker stock doesn't reset to neutral on its own.

I had that issue with my 2023 F-150 PowerBoost Lariat. I remember it was worse in... one of the seasons. I can't remember now if it was worse when cold or warm. I want to go with warm because things tend to expand.

Anyway, I just dealt with it until I turned it in for the Lightning since it was intermittent. But I have definitely seen others complain about this from around that model year. I think it's just a dealer thing, I never did resolve it myself.
