Because I have specific high power draw loads I needed more amps at 120v. So I rigged up a 250-120v transformer to double my output.
It works flawlessly just starting to build a rig to carry it around transformer is around 150lbs

We were able to run out cement mixer that needs a dedicated 20amp circuit. We tried to run it off the 120v lines from the truck and it would flip the breaker instantly.

By using 240v from the truck I'm using both inverters to run my 120v load

Damn - somebody actually using one of these trucks to work. I can't let my truck see this. Just a garage princess.

Wow, very impressive! Great to see the truck living up to the hype. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Dylan, wondering if you tried running the mixer off 1 leg of the 240v outlet since it's rated at 30A. I haven't tried it on the Lightning, but have used a 240v generator outlet to run 120v trailer this way. That would avoid the need for a transformer.

This post should be a standalone ford brochure.... it explains the advantage of an electric truck perfectly.

Probably cheaper to fix/upgrade/replace the mixer.

If it's a 120v unit it should run on the outlet but it's obviously drawing too high a load, maybe start cap is gone?

This is a cool idea. I come close to tripping the 120v outlet when I use an electric pressure washer. (it does trip when I add a 200w pump on the same extension cord.) Would be nice to have more amps available.

This is true - and an interesting fact about the ProPower system. Even though they are fed by the same "circuit", each of the 120v legs is limited to 20 amps (16 sustained, 1,920 watts), but the 240v line which uses both of the legs has the full 30 amps available (24 sustained, 5,760 watts).

Mahalo Plenty, for sharing! You found my solution to my 120V high start-up tool problems was always wondering if it was a practical solution.

It's mixing concrete even a new mixer will still pull alot when mixing. The only other option was to replace with a 240v motor but that would make it difficult everywhere else to get power
