One of the reasons I got this truck, not for my home but my mom's place. I have a whole home generator runs on NG as well as 43kWh worth of solar storage I can use, they don't have NG in her neighborhood so I can just roll over there and plug in for her and drive my old truck around until power comes back on.

I had a portable generator before I bought the lightning so my house already had a disconnect switch and input plug installed.

Did you have to do anything to prevent the truck GFI from tripping? I had to remove the ground wire at the generator connector to stop the Truck GFI from tripping.

my electrician did the same on mine. that's a controversial solution on this forum, but my electrician, who's has specialized in generators for a dozen years, recommended it. He had done this with a few other F-250's with Pro Power.

Love this feature about the truck and it was the major selling point for my wife.

Where we live in rural WA state, we have occasional planned outages for maintenance. Couple neighbors have stopped by wondering why our lights are still on.
I have a simple gen inlet with interlock also, works great and keeps fridges running.
