Is the Ford NACS to CCS-1 adapter UL 2552 rated?

The report recently came out that Lectron's adapters have achieved UL 2552 certification:

Reading through the reports and press releases, one thing is unclear: does this apply to the Ford-branded, Lectron-built adapter that Ford sells?

I would like to think the Lectron adapter that came with the truck would be as well as anything Ford puts their liability on in retailing. Considering Ford is not one to take chances like that, really any company with any sense selling such an expensive machine to use it with.

I've been wrong before so there's that.

The simple answer is no.

The adapter does not bear the official ul marks and therefore is considered to not be approved.

If it doesn't bear the markings, it's not approved. Once they get approval, they can then apply markings to future ones.

Tesla didn't manufacture the Ford-branded adapter. The Ford-branded adapter that is manufactured in collaboration with Lectron will be certified retroactively if/when that happens.

It's not something I can advise on as we are not the manufacturer or had a hand in co-creating that specific design. It would need to come from the supplier.
