Are the EV Map Filters on Google maps Android Auto new? I didn't notice them until this morning. I like the changes so far. Here's a picture from this morning.

No, that was fixed with an Android Auto update released the past week.

I noticed mine was normal yesterday, displaying how many miles left until my destination. So, for me at least, it looks like it's back to normal.
