"Data cited by Automotive News show that a three-year-old EV now retains roughly 40% of its original value, a sharp drop from around 90% just a few years ago."

That's such an insane take. So that will have been during COVID, presumably, when literally every car value was inflated.

It is hard to see how they could be losing billions with the $7500 government credit built into the price. if you can’t make money with that advantage you should be in a different business.

You won't see mine. I'm keepin' it.
Ditto unless there's some spectacular new technology that I can't pass up in 28 when mine comes due to go back.

How can you get a sweet headline without messing with the data?

Leases are generally to expensive to buy out. You could probably turn in your lightning and buy it off the lot for less.

The unusual "perfect storm" conditions of 2022-23 weren't going to hold, if finance companies and automakers expected they were and didn't hedge their bets somehow, then that's on them. Used EVs had pretty good resale prices because EVs were hot at the time. New units were production capacity constrained on top of supply chain issues. Leases written in the last year should already have the corrected depreciation factor built-in so that's doubly on them.

Same..........unless a 2022 F150 Platinum in Star White Metallic w/ Carmelo Interior, Max Recline Seats, 6.5' bed, 5.0 Coyote, 3:73s, pano roof, auto stop/start delete, with no factory bedliner becomes available.

Lol.....I literally search daily. Otherwise, my Lightning stays and is (almost) perfect.
