A/C on my Lightning stopped working few days ago. It just blows warm air when it’s on and the service message comes on. Read a similar issue online before and thought it might be a bad compressor.

Dealership just told me they have to replace the evaporator core and it’s going to be around $3300. Although the truck is only 2.5 years old, I have about 59k miles so looks like no warranty.

Wondering if anyone else had this issue? Seems ridiculous for this type of issue for what is pretty much a brand new truck.

That does seem rather odd. Unlike the condenser, the evaporator is not is a location likely to get mechanical damage from something kicking up on the road.
That also seems awfully expensive, but I'll bet a lot of that is labor just to get near the darn thing. Might be worth getting an estimate from a non-dealer automotive AC company.

Rock Auto lists an AC evaporator core for $50.99. FYI I'd try another shop if it isn't under warranty. May need to show them how to take the frunk apart.

Yep. 2023 with 56k miles.
Just had it done. Was around $3,400 (Fortunately I had purchased the extended warranty).
However, it only lasted about a week. Started to make a terrible racket (the A/C) like a loud buzzing noise.
Took it in to the dealership and they told me that was normal (at least that that would be my new normal). The service manager said that is how all the new one are are and offered to go start-up a new Lightning to show me they make that noise. I declined the offer. (Also mentioned his mother-in-laws Mach-E made the same noise).
So I kept driving it for another week and then gradually NO COOL air. The buzzing is still there, but the A/C isn’t working. So it’s going back in next week For a re-repair.

Have to schedule an appt for mine... no cooling from the A/C, throwing an intermittent service light Presumably complete loss of refrigerant since the code said it was "low." We'll see what part(s) they replace under the Ford extended service plan.

Just found out my A/C wasn't working now that warmer weather is here. Dealer called today and the receiver dryer needed replacement as it was the leak.

He said he would call me back once the parts department located the part. He called back and the part is on back order. Said it would only be about 6-8 weeks. Said not to quote him on that though...

Update on mine... They're saying A/C line needs to be replaced. Parts will be here tomorrow and hopefully I'll have it back by the end of day.
