I can't stand listening to him drone on and on about how bad the lightning was. He's really got no clue.

He certainly IS animated, and opinionated.....but thank you, I'll keep my Lightning...And his new review of the F-150 "hybrid" - hint NO FRUNK.
If only more folks would do this!!Everyone’s plan should be, in that order:
1. Budget.
2. Plan.
3. Test drive
4. Purchase (or not)
Pride is a sin, but I'm very proud that the only loans I've had are student loans, mortgage, and monthly CC debit that is paid in full each month. It's doable. I'm a teacher, and my wife took lots of time off to raise our son, and deal with health issues. Half of our years together have been single income. Personal finance is not taught and people learn by making the worst mistakes. Big govt has us right where they want us!If only more folks would do this!!
Agree. I can't stand in that guy. He is such a jerk.I long ago stopped watching any of his videos because he's a total jerk and frequently has no idea what he's talking about.
This is true, but it's also gotten a lot harder for folks entering the system. Even me -- an "elder Millennial" so to speak -- barely got a house, and now this house -- which I've owned for about 7 years -- has doubled in value.Pride is a sin, but I'm very proud that the only loans I've had are student loans, mortgage, and monthly CC debit that is paid in full each month. I watch some of the car dealers online behind the scenes videos and it's hilarious sometimes. I wish people would research their purchases as if they were spending a sizable fraction of their income and understand that mistakes can cost even more.I stopped reading car / truck / van reviews after my last two auto purchases. In fact. My last (3 vehicles ago) purchase was influenced by the internet - and I hated the car. So. Yeah.

Yes, absolutely! So many former students, millennials, came back to me (I'm just the music teacher, not the math or finance teacher) after getting their degrees and shocked at how they were pressured into college loans for schools that they shouldn't have paid for. Their counselors were pushing the "best college=best job/pay" agenda and too many wound up with college loan debt that they and their parents were incapable of paying off. The system is broken and it's certainly not getting any better. Says the guy who still thinks of himself as a libertarian, but finds himself appreciating the likes of NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani. Something must be wrong with me!This is true, but it's also gotten a lot harder for folks entering the system. The F-150 Lightning I got bought really freakishly close to the cost of the house I grew up in (in the 90s). (~$50k v ~$70k). The house I bought is worth 10x that, and is certainly at least 5x worse from an "income to housing cost" ratio than what my parents paid in the 90s.
One thing to keep in mind: propaganda is being used to split folks apart -- trying to get us to blame the pains of our peers on liberal arts degrees and avocado toast instead of the broken economy and inflation.
In general, folks younger than me (under the age of 40, generally) have been put in a difficult position. You can't budget your way outta poverty when incomes are suppressed and unemployment is rampant. I do wish we taught personal finance in school, but I think things are broken in a more fundamental ways these days.
