It'd need to be a battery pack with inverter to AC current to work with the j1772 connector and go thru the trucks charger, unless it could make use of the CCS DC connection. I do not know if EverDrive uses just the AC or both the AC and DC pins.

everdrive is AC charging the car while driving. It adds a j1772 in the bed. The generator is hooked up to a standard EVSE.

We don’t know what this Ever Drive looks like. I am guessing another add on to our truck beds. We need to see what this thing is all about. Physical evidence.

Did you watch the video? They show the brains they put in the frunk, the cabling and the charging port in the back. That IS EverDrive. You provide the power source and evse. Want to use a 28kW generator and FCSP at 80 amps? Great. Want to stack 48v batteries in your bed or on a trailer with an inverter(s) and EVSE? Great. The limiting factor is your on-board charger(s) so you'll obviously you'll see lesser benefits with this set up especially when towing if you have a truck that's limited to 48 amps. Don't expect it to be a huge game changer if you're getting 1mi/kWh or less towing even at 80 amps either (~40-50 miles/charge). $2k-$2500 is what they're shooting for based on Martin's past comments but could be higher or lower.

It's true. I can charge while I drive. Unlike other EREV concepts that have yet to come to market, I choose the type of power source.

But call me crazy for preferring to stop at a LvL 3 charger for 15 minutes and sip on coffee to achieve more range than all this non-sense would in a 2 or 3 hour drive.

Couple dedicated smart engineers developed a system to increase the range of the Lightning trucks.
I expected that would happen sooner than later. It is great that we have that option if we are willing to pay for that innovation.
We don’t know what this Ever Drive looks like. I am guessing another add on to our truck beds. We need to see what this thing is all about. Physical evidence.
Since my retirement, I’ve been traveling a lot towing my 25ft camper. Recent developments have checked out tow behind campers that are powered by their own battery packs and their drives. Such campers is the Lightship, which is built in Colorado.
There is the physical evidence and what that camper can do. There is also the price tag associated with such cool EV campers. That technology works and there is physical evidence that you can touch and see.
We need to see the set up to get interested. $$$ is another big variable.
I guess Truck Up EVs will keep us informed. I am interested to see the product first before I consider it.
As I described above, the Lightship is in the same league of powered Class A motorhomes price range. It has a lot of advantages if you want to tow it with your Lightning. Consider that you can have it for $160K.
So how much this Ever Drive is going to cost? That will be the deciding factor.
It is cool that are folks who can experiment with their trucks to make them better at what an EV truck can do.
No negativity from my part. Just show me more so I can make an informed decision.

The prices are nearly the same but there also three other EVTrailers on or coming to the market. Pebble, Evotrex and Aboard. I have an early reservation in for the Evotrex PG5.

I agree, and as I'll demonstrate in upcoming videos, that's kind of the idea behind the concept.
For 90% of what I do, I'll never have anything in the truck bed, batteries, generators, or otherwise. But when I do want to do more, this is simply my version of the 'Jerry can' or tidy tank, but much more portable, light, and versatile.
Once you see the applications, you'll see how this isn't about not taking 15 minutes to stop every 300 miles, it's about doing so much more than any gas truck can do, and actually celebrate the fact this is for an EV only.

Certainly not for everyone but you're going to be stopping every 80 miles or less if you're only charging for 15min at interstate speeds. If you can charge at 80 amps, you essentially have the equivalent of a max range GM twin albeit with a lot of extra noise but you're not lugging all that extra weight around town either.

It's coming, I promise. We were clear that this video is one of many in the Ultimate F150 Lightning build series. This is the fourth video. There's only one of me, and I assure you it's all coming. I will literally be demonstrating each kind of power source, then future videos will test it in the field: off-road, over-landing, camping and RV touring. This was mentioned at the start and the end of the video.
There's a lot to unpack, and there's simply no way to do it all in one video. This was introducing the EverDrive system, it's first install outside of EverDrive for the public, and the plan to get it to market. It's just the catalyst, not the power source.
If a power source has a NEMA 14-50 outlet, produced a low THD, and can maintain a Level two minimum without tripping, it will likely work on EverDrive, be it gas, diesel, battery bank, solar, and/or a combo.

This is a great comment and explains a lot about EverDrive.
There seems to be some confusion that EverDrive is also the power source.
Zach, the EverDrive engineer made it clear: this is a means to Level 2 charge your EV truck while you drive. Period. That's the beauty of it. YOU decide the power source, be it gas, diesel, battery, solar, or a combo.
As long as it has a NEMA 14-50 and can output at a low THD and not trip the Level 2, it will likely work on EverDrive.
This is Episode 4 in the Ultimate F150 Lightning Build Series. There's a LOT more to come, I promise. You'll see EverDrive utilizing multiple power sources in multiple scenarios, including the ,mystery source' reveal next week, as well as going off-road, over-landing, camping off-grid, and RVing.
