It's great that the part was found, truly, and I'm happy for OP and wish him nothing but a great experience with his truck.

But let's not forget that it took over two months plus this forum to help out a dealer that should've had the part in a week or so, if not less.

Just injecting a bit of realism for those like me who bought an extended warranty and are now wondering what that's worth if we have to beg, borrow, and steal to find parts.

Drove the truck another 100 miles. Coolant reservoir lost about 1 inch of coolant (Motorcraft Yellow Prediluted Antifreeze/Coolant (Part VC-13DL-G) )
No leaks underneath the vehicle.
I am hoping that it is just some air pockets filling in.
I may be removing the FRUNK to see if I can see any leaks.
Argh. So ready for this truck to be worry-free.
But at least it is driveable.

There's a few threads where new trucks have low coolant after driving around for a while, myself included. I added about ½ gallon total to bring coolant up to the full line during the first 10,000 miles. Hasn't moved since then.

My Lightning is at a little over 4k miles and was below the MIN line recently. I believe it's been underfilled since new, as many others have reported. I ordered a gallon of Ford's prediluted coolant from RockAuto for like $12?

You are totally fine, every truck I've seen needs topped off a few times in the post few weeks of opening the cooling system. No matter how good the dealer does the purge process. I've opened my system twice and not done the FDRS purge at all, and just topped off twice and it's good to go.

No need to look for leaks, you'll see drops where you park if there is a leak. Enjoy.

I hadn't heard of that yet, I have a little over 8k miles and I'm still above the MIN line. I didn't even know where to look for the reservoir - it's under/behind the driver side frunk actuator, visible through the actuator panel cutout.

Update 08 05 2026 1240 MDST (GMT-6) FORD supplied the part to the dealership. Thank you to everyone that had helpful suggestions and a big thank you to Brian (not AI) for his help. What's more disappointing to me is that the OP had to post at all. Independent dealerships will straight up tell customers that they won't contact Ford corporate about an issue that doesn't have a "known fix". It would be nice if there was an incentive for dealerships to work for customers even when it might take some time that isn't directly billable.

I got fooled by seeing a puddle from A/C condensation when I noticed my reservoir was low. I agree with others, top it up as the air bubbles work themselves out. I'd only check for leaks if you get a DTC or have to put in more than a liter after a couple weeks.
