Make sure that they did not give you cash credit for it when you purchased your truck. That was my situation (and I was not told that). When I called them a week or two later, they told me that they gave me $2K credit for it rather than the Charge Station Pro. That worked fine for me. I...
Realizing that this is a three year old thread, but I would still consider a dealer charger to be very low on my priority list. Since the Tesla network opened up to us between when this thread started and the updates today, my first priority is a Tesla superCharger if I need fast charging.
For all practical purposes, I have only use Android Auto mapping. I've poked around on the built in nav and found it to be FAR inferior to the Android Auto mapping. I poked at it for a few minutes last night and was a little surprised that despite the statements that it will show chargers, I...
If you have setup the Tesla app to know you are driving a Lightning, the Tesla App will not even show you locations that are Tesla only. The current version of the Ford app will show a non-compatible location as just a black circle with a bar through it. If you select it, the Ford app will...
I talked to the service manager at my local Ford dealer in August to talk about the GSM replacement. He advised that the replacement part was on back order. He would call me every few weeks just to touch base so I knew it was not forgotten. Last Friday, he called to say the part was in and we...
I agree that having a 6.5 foot bed would have been very nice. However I m not willing to give up the rear seat. First is that it regularly gets used for stuff, and I somewhat regularly have more than one passenger (all full sized adults - not kids). That was one of my biggest complaints about...
Not doubting you, but I am pretty sure I have never seen a Tesla SC smaller than a dozen. My last trip had two Tesla charges - one was 40 stall (Baker, CA), and the other was 120 stall (Barstow, CA). Not that I fast charge near home, but within 5 miles of home there are 5 Tesla SC locations...
For the most part, it's technical. Tesla is making money from us at SuperChargers, it would make little sense to restrict that cash cow. As I understand it, the V1 and V2 SuperChargers have some technical limitation where they can not be made to work with non Tesla vehicles. V3 SuperChargers...
Certainly not the case here. Granted, I am not on the road a lot, but I have DCFC charged 16 times when away from home in the 8 months I have had my Lightning. 15 of those were at Tesla and one E.A. The one E.A. was in Baker, CA because the Tesla SC was not open to us, however there is now a...
At least on the 2024 (don't know about others), if you push the ON button on the bed outlet panel within a minute of unlocking the truck, it will turn on the PPO to the bed.
The only trick I know of is look at the available power. If it's a V4 it is generally 350KW. You can filter for that in PlugShare (I set a range for 300 - 350KW). You can also filter for only Tesla. Wala, Tesla V4 chargers only. Just confirmed, you can do that filtering both on the website...
It would be nice (and boost sales) if Ford would actually advertise the Lightning - like damn near every other manufacturer that has EVs. Can't watch TV or stuff on line that has ads for very long at all without seeing adds that specifically advertises their EV options. Not so with Ford -...
The no lift is 100% driven by dollars. If money was not an issue, I would put a 2 - 3 inch lift in front, about an inch in back and put 35 or so inch tires on it. Can't spend the money at the moment...
