Yes the truck still protects the battery even if the EVSE is not providing power. Many times I have heard the fans kick in while plugged in but waiting to charge.
I don't use the truck scheduling as it likes to charge outside TOU window even when it knows the window.
The cash rebates Ford offers to x plan is generally what makes the difference, dealerships push hard towards x plan in that case and don't budge on the non x plan because generally there is a steady stream of people with x plan.
Oh the alarm still goes off with the truck running. My 16yr reading a book must somehow be more of a possible intruder than a busy dog.
It makes no sense as the truck is still on for climate control reasons but it does.
I think the OP's point is yes the truck stays running when you leave with the keys (or phone) but if the passengers shift around to much the car alarm goes off.
Yeah. @Ford Motor Company had acknowledged this and said they were working on a fix Soon™.
the acknowledgement got lost when the forum website crashed
I feel like many of us use non Ford EVSE. I have a 2024 and use a grizzl-E everyday at 11kw and recently used a Tesla destination charger with out issue.
Then so many variables come into play with a sub panel...how large, future uses...more code rules with underground...
While I have the knowledge to parse thru I am not an electrician and don't feel comfortable suggesting a BOM for this project. Best of luck.
I would ask the electrician who is going to connect everything because they will have an opinion and are responsible for the install.
Going out on a limb that your 2025 is not a fleet truck so you only need 48 amps of charging max. This will mean a 60 amp circuit. If you use Romex then you...
Sometimes I won't have a destination in put, it's just connected as I hop in and then after a few minutes it dings and tells me there is a 15 minute delay on my route.... I don't have a route and there was no delay on my trip home (only 20 minutes trip anyway)
There are a few steps to go thru:
Figure out why it's shutting off...(in my case I re read the manual and still did not know why, several weeks later someone posted about it)
Read possible solutions
Complain to Ford or dealership
Decide what to do about it.
Purchase things if you want to go...
I don't know if they will fix it.
I'm just hoping for a manual update so it's documented with maybe a note to not power a fridge or other intermittent load, like a saw at a job site...
@Ford Motor Company can you at least fix the manual? Even better if you can fix the function.
Yes there are...
For me it's the reflective sunglasses that are a problem. If I use a pair that I can easily see my eyes in the mirror it's fine. When I use a pair that hide where my eyes are looking and it's sunny out, it goes bonkers.
I agree with the jerkiness feeling. You start correcting for drift and then it decides to correct for drift at same time resulting in a jerky, especially on right hand corners.
Interestingly when it cannot find the lines after having already found them it dings loudly and tells you. Contrast...
Yes you should let Ford and your dealer know.
You can push the feedback button and record feedback from the comfort of your truck. As well as a few different 1800 numbers that I don't have handy.
Also...
@Ford Motor Company any thoughts?
I've tried waiting for the fix via OTA but it's...
