Ugh. I'm about to stick some googly eyes on them to see if that helps. It wasn't so bad over the fall/ winter but now that it's getting sunny I can see that it's going to be a constant issue. Yesterday I drove with only cruise and follow distance on and that kept it from yelling at me. Not too bad since I have to keep tugging on the steering anyway when lane keeping is on. I really thought it would have some sort of touch sensor built into the steering wheel.

I don't have BC but the regular lane keeping warnings are quite annoying on absolutely straight roads (like Salem to Eugene). "bong bong bong" every minute unless I wiggle the steering wheel. The truck knows that the road is straight.

I also don't like that it drops out on curves, not that I need it but my wife hates the apparently random bings. I guess it is better than the Kia which silently stops the assist, which has caused a few crashes apparently, but there must be a better way.

Otherwise it is great, coming back through Seattle at night it was nice to have a little bit of lane keeping assistance while jockying through traffic.

I get this sometimes without even having ACC on so not even using lane-keep. The roads in Phoenix are too straight and the truck thinks my hands are off the wheel just because I haven't needed to course correct in awhile.

But with the recent BC related updates that included CMR code, I turned her back on so that I could see for myself if Ford's claims had merit.
For my particular sunglasses, the reduction in nagging has diminished considerably in the truck. And with the recent acquisition of the Mach-E and it being already equipped with more mature software? I can't complain, to be honest.

One thing for sure is that not all lens set off alerts equally. And Ford's updates are tweaking the CMR.

It's an infrared camera, and shines IR light at you. Polarized lenses can totally be opaque to some wavelengths or more specifically angles of light. That's what those computer privacy screens are about. Or why some monitors look like they are turned off when you have your polarized lenses in place.

Presumably if you have fewer issues with specific lenses, they are just letting all the IR light through. I don't know if that's good or bad for your eyes.

Trying to figure out what the deal is with sunglasses and the "Watch the road" warning. Anytime the lane keeping is on (either with BC or just regular adaptive cruise), the truck won't let me wear my fake Pit Vipers Sounds like it isn't a problem for some of you so I guess I need to try different glasses?

Having this same issue and it is beyond annoying. Makes me not want to use CC at all. On the first trip it kept happening, I thought it might be because it was overcast and was going to rain soon, so maybe the cameras were having issues seeing through the shades. But today was my second long trip and it was totally bright, very hot, cloudless day and it kept happening over and over. Finally turned it off in disgust after being frustrated enough to actually say out loud to the truck "I AM watching the damn road!" haha.

After having a r/ship for a few years with an optician, I literally wear sun glasses any time I am outside. Guess I'll have to stop wearing them when I drive on the freeway.

I wear polarized prescription sunglasses and have no issues with the sensors. I can drive for hours with BC on and maybe it nags me a couple of times just cause I’m looking at something out the side window too long. It gives you 5 seconds before the nagging starts.

Sorry if this was explained elsewhere, but does this actually take the whole "watch the road" warning away, or just the bong-bong"?

Would definitely consider it worth the cost of the device if it took away the stupid warnings all together. That plus the seat belt reminder would absolutely justify the cost and effort.

Hey man so I found that for me it is glasses dependent. I keep a different set of sunglasses in my truck for when I'm driving and the cruise control likes them just fine. Not sure what exactly is different about them; I guess they are less reflective?

For me it's the reflective sunglasses that are a problem. If I use a pair that I can easily see my eyes in the mirror it's fine. When I use a pair that hide where my eyes are looking and it's sunny out, it goes bonkers.

I suffered from this same affliction, until I realized that with my hands on the wheel in the 2 and 10 o’clock position, it blocked the sensors view of my face. I found the solution to be lowering the steering wheel a couple of inches. This gave the sensors a much better view of my face. I still get hands on the wheel and watch the road warnings occasionally, but far fewer than I had with the steering wheel in a higher position.
